Thread: [Poll] Which Job are you most excited to try in 5.0?

MCH is basically Edgar from FFVI, so I'm excited to give it another chance this time around. Other than that I liked how RDM looked and am cautiously optimistic about BRD.

As for healers, I haven't heard near enough about what they're doing to them to make any judgement. They kinda skirted around the actual nitty gritty during the live letter.

I main DRK and my dps has always been SMN/NIN but that MCH is looking good.

I'm more excited about DRK because I like what they did with tanks and WHM because I found it lovely and they are my mains.

DNC is very interesting as the real first buffer and MCH looks superfun now

HA! I took the poll and went with MCH. Although, I main summoner on this char, I have always had a soft spot for gun-based jobs in any MMORPG I play. I suddenly have a reason to get my male char to the end of the story so he will be ready for 5.0 and Gunbreaker! He now has two gun jobs to play with! AAHHH! All the other jobs looked interesting too but MCH came for my heart!

DNC looks really fun, I love the moves and aesthetics of the class so far. I also love what they did with WHM and AST and I can’t wait to play them as well.

Reserving final judgement until the full skill set is revealed, but right now Dark Knight and Gunblade.

But grease lighting 4, kamehameha, charge, hi kick splt kick... monk is perfect now. Other than the aura from the sb job quest monk has everything i want. gl4 we gonna be so fast \o/

DNC is top of my list, pretty set on maining it unless I hate it.

As for others, DRK, MCH, SCH seem most interesting to me. GNB as well.

Although now having a more defined support class puts me in that camp.

Dark Knight because it looks better now and kept some of the best aspects. DRK worked, but ideally needed everything revisited and refined a bit. A DRK should have more presence like Zenos. The trailer demonstrated that presence better and it seems to have translated into some of its new actions, in a different way than I was thinking that fits with the new lore. They got rid of Darkside which didn't work with my glamour. Looks like we get DRK's version of Blood of the Dragon that works a lot better with glamours.

I was excited for Gunbreaker, but from what I've seen now I'm more excited for DRK. GNB we've seen do a few slashes and hit a defense cooldown. It has a gap closer like DRK's and poses like DRK. The benchmark makes GNB look like the sidekick of a DRK, trying to emulate them in almost every way besides the two occasional shots. I don't mind it but nothing has hugely blown me away about it yet.

Machinist, because in their words it's basically a new job, rebranded from being about just guns to being about every sort of warfare-related machine including robots. In this way it is no longer just a second-rate BRD shooting bullets instead of arrows. There's almost no chance I would use it long-term, but there can't be many that don't want to get out the robot just once.

It's seeming that DRG has lost Heavy Thrust and Impulse Drive. Heavy Thrust was a problem because it was a damage-up buff that was on the GCD and reset the combo if used. Impulse Drive was a problem because every other job shares its first action across all its combos. I'd like DRG to be one of my primary DPS alts but can't work with it as it is currently when it's only an alt, so I hope these changes are true.

Been extremely excited for GNB since day 1. God, I am so ready for it.
