Hairstyle Concerns for The New Races

Which is a choice. I don't know why it's so controversial to challenge that "the body will be covered most the time". If my Hrothgar is able to show the fur pattern most of the time, it's not a bug or a hack. It's... player preference.

Proof ? Hrothgar aren't even released yet with not testable means to show all types of armor on them. According to what we have now, yes the body will be covered most of the time. That is the design, unless you glamour the Emporer set / purposely choose some of the very few glamours where body markings/fur colour will show. If a feature causes you to restrict your clothing in order to 'feature' it, then it's a downside.

You are arguing that any modifications to the body, such as tattoos, scales, fur or chest hair, are all features with an inherent downside. I don't agree. It's up to the player's fashion preferences whether the placement of the feature is a downside or not.

No, don't misread the conversation. I said markings and body fur color are a downside because they will inherently be hidden, according to what current armor sets are available and how they are handled (which is usually fully covering the body).

I just want to point out that the default outfit for Hrothgar does not cover the fur.

The default here is when we put on some Omega gear, it's covering the entire body. Most armours by default cover the entire body. Most people are not going to go around wearing Hrothgar racial gear for the entirety of their gameplay.

I see tons of dudes running around nearly butt naked in those like that leapord print swimwear. Especially miqo'te. I think this is a non-issue. The alternative would be to make more men's outfits overall skimpy, I don't think that would go down super well.

Yoshi has already addressed that they are working towards removing gender restrictions from gear, specifically saying that if males want to wear dresses they would be able to, and vice-versa. So, while male gear options won't inherently become skimpier, males will eventually have the same skimpy options that females do now.

But then you are forgetting the ton of dudes that are not running around that naked and that might want to wear different glamours without having to take away one of the few customization options for their race.

Edit: I might still have hope for Viera since in another thread and on reddit someone has pointed out at least one new hairstyle in the benchmark that is not there for any race. And then I thought: Would SE really release a whole new expansion and only give us one new hairstyle for every race? I mean they could but I doubt it, so maybe they truly just released a limited benchmark.

After playing around in the Benchmark more, I've realized that the biggest thing that is annoying me about Viera hairstyles is that so many of them have those hideous white daisies in them.

There's no reason, IMO, to force these on so many of the styles. They are ugly, and don't even go with the starter gear, let alone most of the gear in the game.

iam still waiting for tekken 7 Eliza hairstyle (i dont know what it called), i love that style but it didnt exist in this game T_T

Comparing it to what we have available at end game isn't quite a fair comparison with so many unlocked through quests, pvp, and the gold saucer. I'm guessing you will find one you will like in those even if you don't find one in the starting hairstyles. The starting hairstyles are more the ones from where you came from (Golmore Jungle) and not those in Eorzea.

Oh, I definitely have a few from the Benchmark that I love, so that's not an issue. It's just that there's a couple others that I love too, but the daisies kinda ruin it for me.

It reminds me of the original contest winner hair. I absolutely loved the style, but the purple flower killed it for me.

Yeah, that raised an eyebrow from me cause that's pretty much what this thread is about lol.

We don't know what's gonna happen on release. As of right now the new races are limited to these options. I'm sure there's more to this to be seen (Hoping something shows up for E3 or the final live letter) but I'm prepared to deal with having to rock a high top Mohawk with a topknot if that's all the choices I have.
