The New Races We Got For 5.0, Share Your Opinions!

I'm possitively surprised by the emotes of both of the new genders we got at 5.0 of the new races. I think male hrotgar's emotes are very expressive and give a bestial air, while female viera emtoes fit the character just right. Visually, the female viera looks ok, but I find it very weird that their ears are extremely static, otherwise they're amazing in my eyes, and male hrotgar are very decent, much much better than what we saw in the trailer. Both races have limited customization, and you won't be able to choose hair on male hrotgar and you'll have a limited selection on female viera, and perhaps the biggest limitation yet is the fact that you won't be able to choose the sex of your character as of the launch of ShB, so we can only hope all of the previous can be adressed sometime in the future, be it a future patch or expansion. Finally, all of the male hrotgar voices sound kinda same-ish to me, but I really like them anyways, and with female viera I like how there's pretty masculine and very femenine voices, giving players even more options when making them.

Overall I quite like this new races and can only hope that on the future they get more customization trhough the means of gender, hairstyles and additional features if they can be implemented. A solid 8/10 for what we've seen of the male hrotgar and a 9/10 of what we've seen from the female viera. Which is your opinion on this new races?

PD: I want to kindly remind people that this isn't a thread to start fights neither a thred to complain about genderlock, so keep that in mind when posting if possible

while i do like the new races im sad that 99% of them look alike, you pick a facetype, poof thats mostly it. the "show your viera" thread could have ended a while ago since they all look alike. i hope int he future we get more customizations to make all races look more unique.

Anyone wondering why no helm or hat is being shown on 5.0 gears too apparently this applies to all of gears from level 1 - 80. No helmet or hat will be shown on the new races. That said yoshi-p did said they will slowly implement them in so 5.2 or 5.3 i guess.

I like both of them well enough but wish SE had picked one or the other and given two genders of both instead of the split. I get their reasoning, wanting to do viera and a beast race, but I wish they'd just stick to one or the other.

Hrothgar need more hair styles, that's my only real complaint with customization for viera and hrothgar. It's unfortunate that their faces and hairstyles are tied together this way, it reminds me of au ra horns being tied to faces but even worse.

I'm also slightly disappointed there's no orange skin color so I can't make a proper Tony the Tiger but that was just going to be a joke character anyway.

Hrothgar look great, the fur colors and face shapes really help them look different (leopard looks quite different than a panther of the same options). The lack of hair options is a core creativity hampers right now though, adding more hairstyles would help a lot in terms of visual variety.

I hope SE can improve our character creator/models so we can see things like muscle sliders for all, more options, higher resolution (options), and such.

Overall I am excited, will probably switch unless something happens between now and release that's like "but y tho".

Maybe they will update this for 5.0 release, doubt it tho.

The dev did managed to include the 400+ but it's not in the media build so "MAYBE" we might see some hat or helmet on release.

I'm really happy with it

I enjoy the uniqueness that Hrothgar brings with their bestial appearence. I really like the Vieras, even thought the faces look a bit similar, sure, but I think they are beautiful nonetheless. I'm also really pleased with their 'angry' emote that you can see when testing voices. Not exaggerated arm waving or anything, so I like that.
I don't really mind not being able to put helmet on them, I never did anyway (but that's just me). They did mentioned that a lot of accessories were ajusted (on the devs own personal time!) so I know we will get some gear for their heads, which is quite nice

I also REALLY love the Vieras' haircuts. They are beautiful !

The races are early access. Don't worry there's the promise of more later!

Hrothgar - Beastly, masculine overall, and just really cool! 9/10

Viera - A bit too tall, but other players that like tall girls can enjoy it. Very pretty if made right. 7/10
