Blue Mage Unlocks at Lv50?

I understand that I am ranting a bit in this but I would like some feedback and thoughts on my issue. I don't use forums much if ever so please tell me if this is in the wrong spot

Why is Blue Mage Unlocked when you have a Job at lv 50?
I came back to FF14 when I heard that the Blue Mage Job was a single player focused class, I got back on. I often like to play MMOs single player until I am sure of myself, the community, and the gameplay. So a single player class in a heavy multiplayer based game made me want to play again.
That's when I found out that it only unlocks after you have a ch. Lv50. So determined to play blue, I made a separate ch. on the same server and got it to lv50. Then I go back to play a blue mage but it is still locked! I look into it more and the lv50 job has to be on the ch. that you want to play as a Blue.
So what I get from this is to play as the single player class in a heavy multiplayer game, you have to beat the game first. I think that is bull!

what I think needs to happen is Blue Mage needs to be unlocked at Lv10 like all of the other classes that start at lv1 that way if you are more of a single player gamer like me you can still play this amazing game from BEGINING to end.

Problem is BLU currently cannot do Duty Finder content so when you get to point you need to progress the story you'd have to return to another (not limited) class/job to complete the relevant stuff, so effectively you'd have to level up two things at once so to speak. Besides several other jobs require you to reach level 50 (and other MSQ requirements) so it's not like it's new to BLU or anything.

I would say it only unlocks at 50 because it isn't a real job. It's a limited job that can only level to 50 and can't take part in duty roulette, it can only do dungeons etc in a premade group. By making it require level 50, Square dodges the possibility of someone going BLU asap and pushing through ARR as a BLU, only to discover they cannot go any further and have wasted all that time and effort leveling a limited job and now must go back to level another class to press on.

That said, it's not like BLU is the only job that needs 50 to unlock. So, too, does Red Mage, Samurai, Astrologian, Dark Knight and Machinist. So it could also be because its the status quo at this point. And honestly if it weren't for the fact that BLU exclusively gets the Carnival singleplayer challenge I would have suggested Samurai and Red Mage being just as if not more solo supportive than Blue, given the ease of their gameplay and versatility of Red.

IDK... I understand what you are saying it's just infuriating that certain jobs are lv locked. like my brother, he saw the samurai job and wanted to play that but saw the lv50 requirement and decided not to play because he would practically have to beat the game to start playing the Job he wants to.

Dark Knight, Machinist, and Astrologian all start at level 30, and require you to have access to Ishgard to unlock. Red Mage and Samurai start at level 50, and only require the base ARR (2.0) game to be completed.

The reason jobs like SAM and RDM start at level 50 is because they aren't classes. They don't have a class story, nor a "starting city state guild" like the classes we currently have. Same with DRK, AST, and MCH, except they were lowered to 30 because their job quests started there (starting at 50 would have only given them a 50-60 storyline, which may have felt too condensed).

BLU isn't really a real job. You cannot progress past level 50 with it. You cannot queue into Duty Finder via random matching with it (you can do full premades and unsync, but you cannot do things like Roulettes on it). So they probably don't want it unlocking at level 1 because you can't really progress through the MSQ with it the moment you hit Sastasha. They want you to have a second level 50 job available to continue on into HW with.

It's incorrect to say that BLU can't do duty finder content. What BLU can't do is any automated matchmaking through the duty finder. So you couldn't, for instance, take your BLU into a leveling roulette or something like that. BLU can access instanced content in pre-made parties only.

And BLU has to do a lot of instanced content, since something like half their abilties can only be learned from dungeon and trial bosses.

A single player experience focused job that needs to beg higher level people to run them through extreme ARR primals in order to be complete it's spell book. Single player my butt.
