    How to prepare for Shadowbringers?

Brand new players here. My wife and I are WHM and BRD and just got to L35, making our way through the MSQ.

Question: what are some of the things we should be doing to prepare for the 5.0 expansion? Anything in particular?

Thanks for any insights or suggestions

As you are both still doing MSQ and leveling i would say just focus on that for now.

Nothing outside of the Garo event ( pvp stuff ) is being removed in 5.1 i think it was.

Simply, don't set your sights on trying to rush to level 70 just to experience the Shadowbringers content.

Allow yourselves the chance to enjoy the MSQ and content through ARR, HW and SB.

At best, have a look at the details surrounding job changes to see how you might be affected at your current level.

Possibly try and avoid spoilers for the story too

Get all the main story quests done before 5.0 comes out and have to relearn your whole job again.

There's nothing you can do at this particular point and there's nothing wrong or hindering about that. Even if one of you manage to rush to 70, there's still so much content you and your wife will have to comb through that you won't make it in time for ShB

Tbh, that' s actually good. Unlike most of us who are gonna have to discard all of our muscle memory that came with the old rotations, you guys are gonna have a fresh go with all the job reworks.

So enjoy yourselves and take time to appreciate the game. You'll get to ShB eventually.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

    1. Complete MSQ (2.0, 2.1-2.5, 3.0, 3.1-3.5, 4.0, 4.1-4.5)
    2. Skipping side quests will help if you want to start 5.0 on day 1. Otherwise take your time.
    3. After completing 4.5 story, buy crafted i380 gear and upgrade to i390 or farm i380 from Omega raids.

There's nothing much to do besides complete the MSQ and gear up for 5.0 (i400 is best, i380 might be a more realistic target).

Of course, you might want glamour before you do the 5.0 story. You might want a great looking Dark Knight. That means buying or farming for the clothes and swords you want to go through the story with.
