watch a guide, you are not gonna die

we all really gotta stop treating people that dont want to take their time to explain mechanics to someone that comes in blind to whatever duty and say that they are being rude to tell that person that is blind to watch a guide before hand, we got mentors to do that, but not everyone is a mentor, if you are just gonna go into a duty blind and ask for mechanics instead of being one of those people that wanna learn by themselves, then theres no point in not watching a video first, there are nice people that explain everything in 7 minutes tops, and everytime i tell someone to watch a guide when they ask for mechanics they get really mad like its an insult for me not to want to give them the mechanics if they couldnt get of their asses to know them. my time and everyones is worth more than people being lazy, we do duties everyday and we get people that dont even care to follow simple rules, and then someone comes in blind and we are all suppose to be friendly for them not wanting to take their time to watch a video? that type of action is not ok, and you all need to change that mentality.

I agree to an extent but as a counterpoint unless you're doing an Extreme or Savage, the explanation for most fights in this game boils down to maybe 10-20 words at most. 'Dodge the bad, don't look at the boss for this, etc'. It's really no skin off my back to hash out some basic pointers if it helps the run go smoother.

Now if it's an Extreme or Savage I'm in total agreement. You should at the very least watch a guide unless it was made clear from the outset when setting up a party finder that you want a blind run.

While I don't mind giving a brief overview when people ask, mentor and all... Deep down I feel like there is option a) You don't want to take the time to familiarize yourself with something or b) You don't want to go in blind. Either way is fine (within reason, not savage content obviously). I just feel like if it is important to you to know what is coming in the dungeon/raid, you should be taking the time to educate yourself not hoping someone else will.

Well, even if someone does watch a guide, chances are they are going to die in game at least once or twice.

yeah i agree that its not a big thing to explain someone a 4 people dungeon, the problem comes down to do that to everyone, they come in expecting people to just deliver them the mechanics when they first couldnt bother to look at a guide before hand in other to not waste anyones time, if they want to come in blind and learn by themselves its totally fine, but they come in blind, expect people to give them mechanics and if anyone says the word guide they are automatically douchebags, this is whats pissing me off, people thinking my time isnt worth shit and if i tell them "no, go watch a guide" im sunddenly the most rude person in the universe. people are being lazy and im the asshole to think they are being rude to me to not take their time to either learn by themselves or simply watch a 7 minute video. if someone comes blind to a savage content that is beyond rude to everyone cus savage takes not only knowing the mechanics it takes time to get used to them

Honestly, I've never encountered this other than week 1 of a patch (where guides are still being formed), or low level content where the question is instead "anything of note that I need to watch out for?".

Regardless, this is a very very niche thing to complain about

im sorry but this is a constant problem to me, people being lazy and expecting others to just give them everything they need like my time isnt worth anything

    "My time is valuable"

    "Go watch a guide"

So, you just want players to go afk for a while to look up the information you can't provide? Seems contradictory.

how about they look it up before queuing? isnt that what respect is? if im gonna just ask for help why cant i watch youtube? theres nothing contradictory in asking people for being courteous to others, i have to do a countdown everytime i go to a raid when im the tank, this isnt different
