but yes, the GM's should hire you instantly. then the game would be fixed forever! huzzah!
Do you have any idea how much worse it would be if we had zero law enforcement? Where did i claim law, or enforcing the ToS would be 'Perfect' and stop ALL possible incidents?
    It would of course help.

    Huzzah, indeed!

    Edit:

Look, as far as prison goes, people DO get the message. Thats WHY you listed "lie, cheat, steal and murder." You KNOW if you do it, you will be punished if caught.(lying not so much, unless on federal documents maybe) Will it stop everyone? Of course not, but thats exactly why prison and banning exist in the first place. For the few that still do it. The concept of law and in this case, more importantly, FFXIV and how they enforce the ToS, will not stop everyone but will scare away most but the more extreme cases. It still helps knowing that you could be banned for buying gil or calling somebody the N word in chat. More people would if the fear weren't lingering over them. Also the entire point of a ban or prison, is to remove people from the game/society who would not adhere to the rules of said game/society. This not only punishes them from doing so, but it also prevents them from being able to do so again while protecting the people who DO follow the rules all in the same process.

Going to bed. 2:49 here. Still open to discuss later if anyone is interested. Have a good night.

They really should just have a quick report function for suspected botters.

Even if they can't readily identify someone as a bot from a report, if an individual is routinely getting reports piled on them from different people, it would suggest that they are almost certainly doing something wrong and that they should be given a proper investigation.

i just think that they should do something that works instead of this " oh they do and they are back" i log in every day and get excessive of 300 bots on my server and they are obvious ones.... like. you would have to be a complete idiot not to see it. it isn't hard for a DEV or GM to go once an hour or less once every 30 min and do a sweep of each server for bots....if they cant do it id love to do it for free on my days off. guarentee id get over 500 a day.

If you ban a bot they will return in less than an hour the only true way to get rid if them is to do what blizzard did and hit them somewhere that's not easy to recover from their wallets.

This is why i would suggest account bans. Not character bans. Theyd have to buy the game all over again, maybe even expansions. It wouldnt be worth the money any more.

How did blizzard affect their wallets?

Account bans don't work either they already found ways around that without losing money. Blizzard sued the big bot company for 8.6 mil and the bot company quit making their wow bot program after that.

If only SE would take a similar route..

8.6 million..towards the game. No, of course not all of it would, but even 1 or 2 million would likely allow us to have much bigger patches for a while.. Maybe the forums would finally get their male viera \o/

Square Enix's legal team would take it and divert it all to either pay company costs, or for things likt eh FF7R, etc. I bet you not a single cent of it would go back to FFXIV.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

It depends on how much gil they can make in an hour. They have to make it and pool it before getting snuffed out so they can sell it. They aren't being banned in an hour, they're being taken out in waves after a week+ which gives them plenty of time to make it worth repeating. If these are auto-flagged accounts (which I assume from the reported numbers), maybe they can make the gil earned by the player stick so it can't be spent/transferred. If there was a mistake made on the flag, they can just unlock the 'stick' variable that blocks the gil from being useful on that account.
