    2-hour Abilities from FFXI are missing.

    Yall remember the countless times when something bad happened when partying? Remember the rush and excitement when another mob aggro'd while you were fighting another monster? Remember when everyone would shout, "2-hour! 2-hour!"?

    Is the reason that there are no 2-hour abilities in FFXIV due to the fact that there's no necessity to stay alive, so it doesn't really matter?


    To make 2-hour abilities work, there has to be a reason not to die. Since anyone can just magically teleport wherever they want in the world at any time, and since the only penalty from death is loss in durability and the sickness, there's really no adrenaline in this game.

    I think 2-hour abilities should be added to the game as well as a reason to use them.

    Well this is positive in the fact that it adds to class uniqueness and can't be cross classed. Doesn't effect very much though in this sense except on NMs or an extremely difficult challenge.

    I never liked the whole "2hr" ability idea. Only a few were actually worth saving/doing while most were just for fun. Once the traditional jobs arrive It would be cool if they have a powerful ability but only on a 30min timer. Having to wait 2hrs just to use 1 ability that wasn't omg powerful was just pointless in my opinion.

    I agree, it would fit nice with a Job rather than Class. I don't mind 2hrs, removes it from Job strategy so that its not relied upon, emergency only is enough.

    sounds good or maybe a limit break with speical move that can be brought for guild marks, could work well with this system

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders.
