The PVE community of this game is actually pretty good TC, save for a few rotten apples, unlucky your child came across one, if she wants to continue playing you ought to tell her this can happen occasionally and that she shouldn't get frustrated over it because it lacks any importance whatsoever.

Piece of advice too if she's a little sensitive, you might want her to stay away from any PVP mode, including the one from this game. They are sewers. Always. No exception.

You completly missed the point.
And servers are just servers, it doesn't make the rating at all.
I just tried to explain you that no, no it's not false news to say that the game is 16+, because rating isn't the same from places to places.
It never justified the behavior this kid encoutered either.

FFXIV's ESRB rating is T, which is 13 and up. So don't expect that the rating your country goes by to be the same as any one other person's country goes by. And also only accounts for the parts that don't require interaction with other players. Online interaction is always pointed out as being unrated.

As far as the actual topic goes, yes it was rude and shouldn't have happened. But we all have to deal with it because we aren't playing alone, we are playing with other people. And people aren't always nice and considerate, and thats true even if one usually is. Depending on how she feels on this within a few days it might be best for your daughter to put MMOs on hold for a while. Because it won't be the last time it'll happen no matter how long it takes for it to happen again, because well, people.

Nah If someone else is being a dick to someone in a trail/dungeon I'm in Im going to speak up because Im not going to just accept that gamers are basement dwelling goblins and shouldnt be held accountable. If you cant handle one wipe without throwing a fit and bullying someone then leave. If they cant act civil maybe they should be the ones to not put themselves in social situations because they clearly can not handle it.

Pretty sure most of you don't have a right to tell him what to teach his child if she's already a good kid assuming.
I kinda hate when people do that, if you never raised a child yourself. (Including myself)

I actually have a 15 year old daughter who plays this game among others online as well as a 17 year old son who does a lot of online gaming. I offered my advice as one parent to another and I hope it is taken in good faith.

Online games have been a great way to teach my children about human nature and how to deal with many types of personalities even when it makes them uncomfortable or angry.
