Updated Bard guide

Hello, any updated Bard guide out there for around level60 bards?
Im not looking for raid and big dungeon guides, i just like to know a good rotation for just basic hunting tips to stay alive while running around not getting hit...

Hope someone has time to help out and thanks for reading.

You'll rarely ever find guides for jobs that aren't meant for the current level cap (i.e. lv70).

Keep Straight Shot up
Keep DoTs* up
Keep a song up
Always keep your GCD** rolling
If you're dealing with 3+ targets, use Quick Nock instead of Heavy Shot
If you're dealing with 2+ targets, use Rain of Death instead of Bloodletter (Rain of Death is Lv45, so this advice only applies past that level, obviously)

*DoT - Damage over Time. For Bard, that's Venomous Bite and Windbite. When these DoT effects crit, they trigger your song bonuses.
**GCD - Global Cooldown. These are your skills that share the same cooldown as Heavy Shot.

I could certainly delve into more detail, but since this is the newbie section and I'm not sure what you mean by "basic hunting tips", those are the basic tenets of Bard. With that said, what works for "raids and big dungeons" works for anything that lives longer than ~15 seconds.


If you want an optimized single-target rotation, then the lv70 guides should be fine for the most part. The rotation doesn't really change much between 60 and 70. At Lv64, the DoTs last longer, and at Lv70 you swap Refulgent Arrow in instead of Straighter Shot. Those are the only things that will slightly change your rotation past Lv60.
