    nervous about the combat system overhaul

    i'm excited to see the upcoming changes but on the other hand i'm feeling a little nervous. mostly from leaks and rumors (removing tank stances) and other things makes me think that SE is going down the path towards homogenizing classes. every job right now feels unique and distinct from eachother (even smn and sch). i am worried that they are going in a direction that would lead to jobs feeling too similar to eachother.

    Nearly every idea at the moment of how the combat changes will turn out are basically memes.

    RIFT had a bad case of this at one point, what with all the Spin2win, Pay2win memes surrounding the new class lol.

    WoW has it all the time with the Ele Shaman memes.

    Everquest II's become such a meme in it's own right that they have a case of Schrodinger's Meme where your guesses about class design can both be correct and incorrect at the same time.

    im excited because it needs it bad. keep it tab target idc but the combat needs some weight, faster, and smoother animations; especially monk. Have combos to speed up combats if needed. Also for those wanting slower combat, remember that not every class needs to be 1.0. by giving each class a different speed they will play differently and make the combat refreshing instead of relaying on mech to keep it interesting.

    I think the one thing I'd want most is for them either remove or revamp infusions, because the cost/time required to amass those is disproportionately high for how short-lived their benefits are, especially compared to food.

    WoW has similar consumables, but they at least mitigated the annoyance by limiting how many can be used in an encounter (Only one potion per encounter normally; two if you "pre-pot" and use one just before entering combat) and allowing them to be crafted much faster and in much larger quantities (A potion specialist can churn out over a dozen per craft every few seconds).

    There have been some legitimate leaks.

    One of which was a very convincing screenshot of the new Secret of the Lily tooltip, showing that lilies now apply a flat potency buff, and work similarly to Greased Lightning.
