sure they might all have stances but they're all unique. drk especially since it's meant to be the middle ground between war and pld.If every tank right now has a tank stance, does that not mean they are already homogenized? The truth is this game is very... single path..? Every Job is expected to perform within single digits of disparity. If one job does 10% more damage than the rest, it better offer zero utility.
Right now, Stances seem to just force all tanks that want to be optimal to do some stance dancing. At the same time, it's been argue healing is too easy in this game. Would it not be more interesting if they just increase tank damage, make offensive tank stance the default, and make healers work a bit harder?
I recall there being a healing and a dps stance for healers too, no? That also got removed, the world didn't end because of it.
Whatever they do with tanks, I feel getting rid of tank stances is a smart choice. I just wonder what would that mean for Warriors, who's abilities basically completely transform on each stance. What set of abilities will be lose? Or will we have access to all of them at once? Longer combos? very curious about that.
I doubt any of the "leaks" are real, because as far as I understand everyone invited is a responsible journalist or youtuber that has signed an NDA. If they breach it they may not get invited again and possibly open themselves to other sorts of action. It's not even worth breaking because they are only being asked to wait a week and that has the benefit of giving them time to prepare videos and articles in advance.
They usually get most Jobs right but may mess up a few. Some of these may be salvagable like the issues with Warrior at the start of Stormblood for example, while others may require expansion-level changes like BRD in HW did to remove the bowmage stigma. Your Job probably won't be drastically altered if it's working fine and will get maybe 4 new actions if they continue the trend from Stormblood. It's worth having a backup Job in mind incase you don't like the changes.
Anything they change is intended to make it better rather than to mess it up, so just hope for the best.
I'm ready to be angry.
You know most of those "leaks" are memes, right?
I for one don’t see that ever happening. They would have to retune a lot of existing fights to either require only one tank or somehow not need enmity swaps. Without tank stance it would make new/undergeared players control over enmity already more shaky than it currently is. Far too much work for no real benefit.
Just your friendly neighborhood elezen

To be fair the rumors also say that tanks would get a reverse- diversion ability that makes them generate more threat on a CD
so it'd be more or less the same, just no damage reducing stance
Live letter is in two days, calm down lol. You're looking too much into the leaked memes.
Will you guys going to be angry if they remove tank stance?
Come to think of it, aside from WAR, both DRK and PLD stance switching is extremely clunky and unsmooth to use. If they get rid of the stance and let the enmity combo generate threat just like when the stance is activated then I think it would be fine.
