There's an interesting correlation to be found in threads such as this. Exceptions exist but if you look at the lodestone profiles of the posters overly concerned with social issues, you'll often find that they're not hugely invested in the game itself and are primarily concerned with glamour.

Does that really matter if they're here and paying a subscription? I mean you need one to even post on the forums.

It matters. The resources available to the development team are already very strained and can be better spent satisfying those who do not accuse the developers of discrimination whenever something does not go their way.

OP didn't say anything about discrimination; they asked for more options while pointing out some existing examples (male characters can already wear thongs as previously mentioned), something that makes everyone happy. Doesn't mean that it'll necessarily happen, but there's no harm in asking, either, unless someone is going to be rude about it (and they weren't in this case; it was other people that needlessly threw a fit.)

You're missing the point, anyway; if someone pays for a service, then their opinion, even if it's perhaps inane to some, is worth voicing when respectful.

I don't interpret it as 'wrong' so much as 'dated', which is as true as it is ironic when applied to a game that was once praised for not falling into the same, tired, gendered tropes a number of other MMOs fall under. Worse still is when you remember that one of Final Fantasy's most popular games features a particularly beloved scene in which the protagonist crossdresses.

Sexual fanservice is fine, but to make it work in something intended to have a broad appeal, it has to go both ways. I'm saying this as a hella gay woman that's super excited for glamazon bunny girls.
