Respectfully, I'd like to reiterate that the drop rate for Ifrit weapons is far too low. To draw a comparison to FFXI, the kind of items I recall having a similar drop rate were things like Defending Ring from King Behemoth and Shadow Ring, etc. from Dynamis Lord. While I didn't necessarily agree with the drop rate there, either (and seeing someone with one made me think they were lucky, not dedicated/skilled), they were more "dream items", and those HNM dropped other things, as well. As opposed to that, Ifrit and Moogle drop pretty much nothing most of the time. Even Garuda, which is a guaranteed drop, requires 20 successful kills to get anything of value.

While I like progression, the progression in FFXI (Assault, Limbus, Salvage, etc.) had varied content, and always rewarded you with something each time. Ifrit, Moogle, etc. reward you with nothing most of the time, and you just go... fight Ifrit, Moogle, etc. again. There is no variation. Just a lot of repeating the exact same encounter and hoping to hit the lottery, making the encounter into a glorified slot machine.

The seals, materia, weapons themselves, whatever you get from the Ifrit, Moogle, etc. weapons are so rare, due to the lottery; much more rare than they need to be. If an item is felt to be "too powerful", it should either not be added, or should be put behind a skill barrier, not a luck barrier. If the answer the dev team needs is to increase how long you are locked out of the fight after doing it, so be it. I'd rather fight Ifrit once a day and always get a weapon, than fight Ifrit 10 times a day for a month and not get a weapon.
