I mean now as the content is becoming more older, wipes are less frequent but it's not uncommon to get in-prog Orbonne duty pop 40+ mins in and know Cid has broken some of the parties inside. Does watching a guide beforehand help, yeah sure, but it's usually not a necessity for content that is so casual, worse case scenario the bads get kicked from the party.

It really depends imo on the content. If you go into savage fights or ex primaes you either should be fine with truly going in blind or read/watch a guide, because those fights have often too many mechanics to explain. But I am fine if someone watched a guide but did not remember a specific mechanic and asks about this after the try.

I dont agree with the sentiment if its about normal content. Of course if someone wants an accurate detailed explanation of a fight then maybe they should have looked it up, but I see no harm in mostly going in blind and then ask if there is anything that kills in there. This is not happening that often in dungeons and should be explained quite fast. And if there is none then there needs to be no explanation too.

I get what OP is saying. It's silly to go into a dungeon/trial/etc for your first run and immediately ask for mechanics just before each boss (I see tanks do this requently). If they want spoilers they should've looked them up before queuing. I give these players one of two answers: "Enjoy your first time", or "Eat pills avoid ghosts". Nine times out of ten they never ask again.

I only watch guides for Extreme/Savage content.
All other content I run blind, cause there's absolutely nothing in MSQ progression or sidequests that requires you to know in advance what will happen.

At The Risk Of Sounded Like That Guy I rather Go into All content Blind it's more fun for me, like someone stated earlier the most I may die is once or twice to a unknown mechanic, or a spin on a previous one. I'm sorry but I grew up beating games with no help and the challenge of learning from your mistakes.

Maybe Square should introduce a 0800-FINALFANTASY hotline for people

Going in blind in half the fun. That's why there's such a thing as learning parties for Extreme/Savage, and anything less difficult that those should be entirely fair game.
Of course Savage and Ultimate are a bit different in that IF you want to go in blind, the onus should be on you to seek that sort of accommodation, by joining a specified learning party or starting your own.

People enjoy, and learn things differently. I personally find it's much easier to learn a fight by failing its mechanics, than by watching a youtube video.
I could study a video for hours and still not completely get it, but a couple plays throughs and I'm completely on the ball.

As OP has said many times, I totally agree that if someone is explicitly asking for the mechanics when they enter something, they would have been better off looking up a guide. Going into casual content blind is fine, why not, but if you're gonna go in then just ask someone to explain it all to you then you've no reason to have not looked at a guide. Especially so for dps out there, you have queue times, use them to look shit up briefly.

There's no amount of videos, guides, and PoVs that can prepare you for the Unending Coil of Bahamut: Ultimate. Fam, it doesn't matter, how much you prepare. You will die, over and over and over again.

Ive been watching MTQs guides b4 i attempt 24man/8man raids or trials[Dungeons tend to be self explanatory so i dont watch any, i havent "trapped" anyone yet atleast] and mostly it has been going quite well id say.
Her guides last 3-10 minites max which is quite short compared to many and covers what u need to know! Besides some outdated dungeons may have been tuned down or something things are good to consider overall~
