The heart symbol is visible behind the Viera dancer artwork, though. And dancers use throwing weapons, not specifically chakram, so it wouldn't make sense for them to make their icon one specific weapon. It's important to note that the guy who made these, has supposedly said that he only saw colourless versions and made two mock-ups with alternating colours.
A lot of people believe, who at least that I have seen, that this is the wrong way round and that the Heart shape is for Gunbreaker (due to Squall Leonheart and Hrothgar connections) and Dancer is supposedly a Chakram
So while I'll aggree that the monk icon is silly, the SMN one is a summoners horn (the thing they wear on their head) which is actually a pretty iconic part of summoner so it makes some senseIt could be worse.
It could be Monk/Summoner
I have no idea how either of those jobs are supposed to be represented by their icons.
Ahh yes, three lines. Since we all know Monks are all about 3 lines.
Of course, triangle thing, no Summoner is complete without Triangle thing!
Though, from the looks of the 2 icons shown...
The heart one makes the least sense to me. I can't figure out its relation to Dancer/Gunbreaker at all, outside of a "Lionheart" reference, which is a bit of a reach for the icon for the job (Especially so given that Squall isn't canon in this universe...)
The other one, could be taken as a Chakram or slice through a crosshair (The latter being a bit weird due to its actual design) which makes some sense for either job.

If you want to know the real reasoning behind the job icons, sometimes you need to add a bit of colour.
It's only natural for rabbit tanks to have their own symbol.
Looks like a barrel getting cleaved to me.Well, if that's what it's supposed to be, they need to take it back to the drawing board.
The more I look at it, the less I see it as related to gunblades.
I mean, I don't expect one player's whinging to change things, but... I'd rather whinge and make sure everyone knows I don't like it.
"Gunbreaker"
Really it's the summoner horn? I always thought it was a breath attack from Ifrit or Bahamut lol
Oh cool, I never put the icon and the bit behind the Dancer artwork together.
As for using a Chakram as the icon, I could see it making sense as just a symbol for throwing weapons in general, the way that Bard uses a harp even though they use Bows, Harps and Flutes. However that would make more or less sense to the individual based on familiarity with throwing weapons, which for me is limited to Chakrams and Throwing Knives.
t looks like a tilted SAM icon
What color you think the job stones would be
Im gonna guess pink for dancer and orange for GNB
