I'm 90% certain the Ishgard content is just going to be glorified Custom Deliveries.

Wouldn't be surprised if Yoshida already considers existing Custom Deliveries to be crafter/gathering "endgame" content. It rewards the Scrip equivalent of "endgame" tomestones, after all.

Hope I'm wrong, but I can totally see it just being the Doman Reconstruction, just with Custom Delivery trade ins, instead of Allagan Platinum Piece trade ins. Hopefully the crafting section is a bit more involved than "buy all the materials from this conveniently placed NPC", and hopefully its a tad less linear and we can pick areas to focus on building up in whatever order we like, but I can't see them breaking the mold all that much with this...

Ideal world, I'd love rebuilding Ishgard to be a server project. Gatherers bring in the materials, that stocks up the NPCs that crafters can then purchase from to make the specifics to rebuild. World first Ishgard rebuilt would be interesting, as would data center first (even more so with world visit now being a thing). Of course, you do that then it becomes a tad hard to incorporate new players, if you're late to the party you missed it all... Still, it's an interesting concept IMO. Could perhaps have the rebuilding be server based, and have it unlock Ishgardian Custom Deliveries that individuals then progress on for the story?
