Wait, you can augment the class gear? How?Also something important to note with your class quests -- the characters and stories are continued each expansion anyways, so if it's a job you've come to enjoy, it's best to keep up on them anyway. And in addition, the level 70 class gear pack you get at the end of your 60-70 story can be upgraded several times to remain relevant as you delve deeper into content.
Well, at least I'm trying...
Yeah, I already mentioned the 50/60 dungeons, and perhaps not every day on those Main Scenario dungeons, but they do give 300 tomes for a single run. Maybe a couple times a week or something, that's an easy 600 tomes along with the ~150 daily from the 50/60 dungeons you'd have a full suit of gear in one week. I only mentioned the "once a day" just to make sure to specify that you only get the reward once in a day."Also, when you get Level 50, do the Main Scenario Roulette (once per day) once you've unlocked it."
That's a sure fire way to get someone to quit the game due to burnout.
Usually the latest dungeons available of the previous level cap will give a bunch of poetics. For example Baelsars wall and Sohm Al Hard give 100 poetics past level 60, plus smaller amounts for the individual bosses, and potentionally newbie bonus.
So things like Keeper of the Lake should give a fair amount at level 60 too.
It's my understanding that roulettes put you into a random dungeon from among the ones you've already unlocked. But that includes the low level dungeons, like Shastasa, right? I get that we are level synced for the dungeon run, but what about the gear that drops, is it synced up to our actual levels or do they drop dungeon-level gear?

Meaning that if you Roulette into a low level dungeon, you'll get low level items drop.
That said, outside the Daily bonus on Roulettes (Which is only attainable once per day), you get better experience from queueing up for the highest level dungeon(s) that you have unlocked and thus will be able to get level appropriate loot.
The MSQ Roulette dungeon may or may not cause burnout, but it is a decent alternative for Poetic tomes and XP. But trying other avenues to gain exp and gear wouldn't hurt either."Also, when you get Level 50, do the Main Scenario Roulette (once per day) once you've unlocked it."

Keeper of the Lake, Baelsars Wall, and Sohm Al (Hard) all give 100 poetic tomes total if one beats all 3 bosses. The additional amounts only come from newbie completion bonus or roulette bonus.

I used to think this too, but this is actually false.Gear that drops in dungeons is at the level that the dungeon is.

The XP you get from the End-of-Dungeon clear is compensated when your level is higher than the level of the dungeon. You get a bonus % applied to your reward so that if you're Level 69 and end up with Sastasha from your Leveling Roulette, you will get very close to the XP you will get out of running Castrum Abania. You just won't get any useful loot.
Also, specific Qing is much slower than Qing for Leveling, but you only get the Leveling bonus once per day.
Level 60 job/class gear can be upgraded through tomestones and tokens (24-man raid) in Idyllshire by trading for/buying Illuminati stuff and have Seika repair it. Level 70 "Antiquated gear" can be upgraded in Eureka. The level 70 tomestone vendor gear can get augmented by trading coins from the Return to Ivalice 24-man raids for upgrade material in Rhalgr's Reach. See here for details: https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/w..._70_Gear_Guide
As someone who recently leveled up every single job I can confirm that the extra "Bonus" you get at the end of the dungeon is far, far less than what you will get from doing a similar level dungeon. Especially if you factor in experience boosts which only affect kills (Thus benefits equal level dungeons more than Roulette bonuses)I used to think this too, but this is actually false.

It was to the point where I'd be getting like 50-60% of a level from say Castrum Abania at level 69, but in a roulette for Sastasha I'd be getting like 5% of a level or some other pathetically negligible amount (Outside of the daily roulette bonus which, unless getting unlucky and getting Bowl of Embers, would give about 70-80% of a level)
As far as specific queueing times go... I never noticed any difference. Including while being DPS.
Especially since you'd just end up getting all the people doing Roulettes being matched with you.
So you admit that Sastasha + Bonus is 70-80% of a level, but Specific Abania is only 50-60% per level?
That was the entire point of my post. You get more out of doing the daily roulette bonus than you do specific Qing the highest level dungeon you can.
And the queues are faster because if you Q for Leveling, you get put into a queue with everybody Level 16+. If you Q for Castrum Abania, you can ONLY get Level 69-70 players which automatically removes the <Lv69 players making the pool much smaller.
But if you're a tank, you won't notice this becuase it's near instant no matter what you Q for... healer... I've seen 5 minute waits before now and then. DPS? Specific Qing is 20min, Leveling Roulette is 10-15.
