Also, when you get Level 50, do the Main Scenario Roulette (once per day) once you've unlocked it.

You get 300 Tomestones of Poetics, and it only takes about 2,200 tomestones for a full set of Level 50 gear (sans weapon, which you can buy in Ishgard or the Market Board) which will last you through the first two dungeons.

Alternatively, or maybe in addition to that, all Heavensward and Stormblood Leveling Dungeons (51-59 and 61-69) are guaranteed to drop 1 piece of gear that goes straight to your inventory (nobody can roll on it, you automatically receive it). So, what you can do, is keep running, say, Dusk Vigil until you fill your entire equipment screen with that gear (though that's kinda overkill). You could also build up 2,000 Tomestones and then buy Level 60 gear in Idyllshire when you get there, that way the moment you ding Level 60, you'll have an almost-full suit of 260 gear from that vendor which will give you a nice leg up for when you are doing the Level 60 cap dungeons and fights.

So if you end up in The Vault and you're not geared well enough, go back to Sohm Al and run that a few times to get gear. It will never give you duplicates, and you might have other gear drop that you can roll Need on as well.

EDIT: Also, since you're a healer, do the Trials Roulette once per day too -- oftentimes you'll bump into Newbies and anytime that happens, that's another 75-100 Tomestones on top of the 15-20 the Trial would normally give, and you can also get 50-60 tomestones out of Level 50/60 Dungeon queue.

EDIT2: You could also level up to Level 50 in Palace of the Dead (in Quarrymill) to Level 50 and get an FC person to drive you up to Mor Dhona with a passenger mount and you can buy Level 50 Tomestone Gear to skip the whole gearing up thing altogether. Suppose you could also maybe do the same thing with Idyllshire once you get access to Ishgard; have someone fly you to Idyllshire and buy the Lv60 gear there, and then level up to Level 60 in PotD. That way you'll be Item Level Sync'd in pretty much every dungeon and trial you run until almost the end of Heavensward.

That's a sure fire way to get someone to quit the game due to burnout.

Usually the latest dungeons available of the previous level cap will give a bunch of poetics. For example Baelsars wall and Sohm Al Hard give 100 poetics past level 60, plus smaller amounts for the individual bosses, and potentionally newbie bonus.
So things like Keeper of the Lake should give a fair amount at level 60 too.

Yeah, I already mentioned the 50/60 dungeons, and perhaps not every day on those Main Scenario dungeons, but they do give 300 tomes for a single run. Maybe a couple times a week or something, that's an easy 600 tomes along with the ~150 daily from the 50/60 dungeons you'd have a full suit of gear in one week. I only mentioned the "once a day" just to make sure to specify that you only get the reward once in a day.

It's my understanding that roulettes put you into a random dungeon from among the ones you've already unlocked. But that includes the low level dungeons, like Shastasa, right? I get that we are level synced for the dungeon run, but what about the gear that drops, is it synced up to our actual levels or do they drop dungeon-level gear?

Gear that drops in dungeons is at the level that the dungeon is.

Meaning that if you Roulette into a low level dungeon, you'll get low level items drop.

That said, outside the Daily bonus on Roulettes (Which is only attainable once per day), you get better experience from queueing up for the highest level dungeon(s) that you have unlocked and thus will be able to get level appropriate loot.

I used to think this too, but this is actually false.

The XP you get from the End-of-Dungeon clear is compensated when your level is higher than the level of the dungeon. You get a bonus % applied to your reward so that if you're Level 69 and end up with Sastasha from your Leveling Roulette, you will get very close to the XP you will get out of running Castrum Abania. You just won't get any useful loot.

Also, specific Qing is much slower than Qing for Leveling, but you only get the Leveling bonus once per day.

As someone who recently leveled up every single job I can confirm that the extra "Bonus" you get at the end of the dungeon is far, far less than what you will get from doing a similar level dungeon. Especially if you factor in experience boosts which only affect kills (Thus benefits equal level dungeons more than Roulette bonuses)

It was to the point where I'd be getting like 50-60% of a level from say Castrum Abania at level 69, but in a roulette for Sastasha I'd be getting like 5% of a level or some other pathetically negligible amount (Outside of the daily roulette bonus which, unless getting unlucky and getting Bowl of Embers, would give about 70-80% of a level)

As far as specific queueing times go... I never noticed any difference. Including while being DPS.

Especially since you'd just end up getting all the people doing Roulettes being matched with you.

The MSQ Roulette dungeon may or may not cause burnout, but it is a decent alternative for Poetic tomes and XP. But trying other avenues to gain exp and gear wouldn't hurt either.

Keeper of the Lake, Baelsars Wall, and Sohm Al (Hard) all give 100 poetic tomes total if one beats all 3 bosses. The additional amounts only come from newbie completion bonus or roulette bonus.

Level 70 artifact gear can be upgraded through Eureka, although it's probably better to go for tomestones gear as it's easier to obtain and takes less time, plus it's not specifically job restricted so there's that as well.

Leveling roulette is potentially faster because it can drop you into any duty, rather than waiting to gather three people who are eligible for the specific level you're queuing for. Especially as you get closer to level cap and less eligible people are needing to level their character.

Leveling roulette is the efficient choice ONCE per day. After that, if you want to grind leveling dungeons, queue directly for your highest-level option.
