I for one, welcome our robe wearing overlords. Glory to the one true God.

You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
Robes are why I glamour my Maelstrom Lieutenant's Jacket atm. XD
While glamour exists I do think there are to many robes capes and gowns for well every job out there basically even melee monks wearing full length coats of striking with virtually every gear set they introduce.
If you want something that isnt a full length robe gown cape or whatever then even with the glamour system you're pretty damn short on options. even on heavy armour jobs there's no reason virtually every plate body has to be accompanied with a full length cape or whatever.
For obvious reasons
I'm good with robes though.
I suggest we table this motion
That one actually does exist. It was a reward for the Moonfire Faire, I want to say three years ago. The unfortunate part is if you weren’t playing then, the only way to get it is to buy it in the mog station.
Intent of the law and really this post to call attention to a glaring and irritating truth, there are too many F%^$ing robe armors in game, stop making them, don't even consider making them. We had an area devoted to diving/swimming in tropical temperatures, what did we wear? Robes!! Did we get area appropriate gear? yes after completing a grindfest dungeon for it, did we get anything appropriate in quests... NO! We quested in not 1 but 3 arid wastelands where even the npc's knew to dress lightly 1 was a Salt flat. What did we wear in Arabia minor? Robes, great long curtains, and full body armors. We had a dungeon in a ship graveyard what did we find? Robes! more robes. Raids, dungeons, Hard modes, Relic robes robes robes not even new styles just recolored retooled the same thing. Somebody mentioned they even made robes for the dps jobs that don't traditionally dress in their bed sheets normally. Tank relic, drg, relic, monk, warrior, ranger(still not calling it bard), machinist we all wore bedsheets and curtains it's inexcusable.
It's beyond lazy development in fact in some of the areas we were in it's outright cruelty. A law is needed if anything just to draw the attention to the fact that enough of us see what they're doing that they won't get away with it for another expansion. I for one want a complete redo of Stormblood but that would be regressive, removal of the offending garb would be acceptable along with an apology and oath on his mothers soul to never do it again from Yoshi P. Btw I believe in sewing a bit of humor into my posts it ensures a reader will actually read the idea rather than dismiss it outright and automatically deride me, my hope is you got a laugh but also thought "you know he's kinda right". Every time Yoshi P talks about data and transfers and how the dev team cant do this or that, there's too many items that go with you, can't help but think if you deleted 99% of the robes from the game at once you'd drop that load by two thirds instantly.

The people who don't like robes also have dozens of glamours to choose from. Yes, even the mages.
I highly suspect the OP is trolling (because if not, they are exaggerating horribly, and very poor at "requesting something from the devs" in a way that will make them listen), but the sentiment seems to come up often enough, and it seems to be the same kind of complaint every time: there's "nothing but robes", they all look the same and the devs should stop making them because people don't want them.
That simply isn't the case.
Yes, there are a lot of robes and long coats - especially for mages. But there are a reasonable amount of shorter tunics and shirts that seem to get overlooked in this sort of argument (not to mention Shisui swimwear as genuine leveling gear), plus "all classes" glamour gear that can be incorporated into job-themed costumes.
Also the claim (not just here) that robes all look the same. I don't understand this at all. They are clearly different designs, different lengths, different shapes. The game has a huge variety of robes - even before some people define anything longer than waist-length as a robe.
This is a fantasy game, and personally the robes and tunics are exactly what I want for costumes in this setting. (The near-invariable miniskirts for female mages' relic gear, on the other hand... don't get me started on that.)
Why the assumption that nobody likes this costume style just because you don't?
Old seasonal gear is cheap though, and the Legacy Warrior gear is definitely worth getting for $5.
I used the body armour and circlet for this WHM glamour and it also made a nice starter outfit for DRK (dyed shadow blue) that lasted quite a while until I was high-leveled enough to find something else I liked. My only complaint is that the sleeves should be a little longer so they connect to long gloves and gauntlets.
Also comes with useful gloves and boots that don't really have anything similar in-game.
There's also (for all classes, but not necessarily Lv1) the "Proto Ultima Mesh" from the Idyllshire quest that sends you into Dun Scaith, the gauntlets and boots from the Garlean armour set, and the Rathalos gear.
Guess what people actually wear in Arabian settings? (Hint: not the full body armour, as far as I'm aware, but....)
Long robes, especially in lighter fabrics, are going to protect you from the sun. A lot of desert-dwelling people in the real world wear them.

Ma'am, this is a mcdonalds drive-through.Because a rule isn't strong enough. I propose a Law that forbids SE Dev team from producing a full expac of Robes and robe armor especially for the following jobs Whitemage, Redmage, Bluemage, Blackmage, Astrologian, Scholar, Ranger(refuse to call it bard), and Machinist. My reasoning is sound, SE gave us an Expac devoted to arid wastelands and Asia in which we run around dressed in neck to ankle drapes whose only design difference is the colorful Christmas ornaments hanging from it or lack thereof.
The law i propose states that SE may release 1 Robe armor set for any of the above listed jobs but for every Robe added must design and release 3 Glamour sets that are of unique style but are not robes, and 2 alternative design armors that are also not Robes or in any shape or form even related to a robe for each job which the Robe set is intended. SE will also make efforts with every patch through Shadowbringers to remove 50 redundant and uninteresting Robe Styles from within the existing game until a 1 in 5 ratio is achieved. After which they may release more robe designs but not in excess of 2 in 5 for the affected jobs. SE will also discontinue using the style for any other jobs instead allowing it to die in fire where it belongs.
Thus proposed, we are not in the dark ages, we are not catholic nuns, we are adventurers in a fantasy world in which most everyone glamours all the existing robe sets into underwear, or swimwear. To insist we dress in such a puritan fashion except in Rare occurrences is an abomination. That is all, if this is a good idea chime in lets elevate this to Yoshi hopefully he will have it tattoo'd upon the foreheads of the entire Design team and it become his new Lifes mantra. Second only to "Look Forward to this."
