Sounds to me like you're taking one experience and generalizing it. Honestly it's only the cape westwind and a couple of other lvl 50 8 man stuff that goes down relatively quickly, the rest is pretty normal. Just keep going

It's a continuation of the same story.

Heavensward's ending is just as epic, especially the Dragonsong finale.

The story still has a very long way to go. Lv50 is only the end of Episode 1.

Heavensward and Stormblood may only encompass 10 levels in each of their expansions, but Heavensward's story is widely considered far better than A Realm Reborn's story; the level 64~66 range of Stormblood is absolutely amazing in terms of story and lore as well, and includes on of my favorite MSQ solo instances. ARR doesn't even pick up until the level 40s, as most of the beginning is a lot of filler. HW and SB have less filler.

You've barely started the story at this point in the game's life.
