    Nature oriented job?

Why isn't there a nature/wilds oriented job in FFXIV? I really like those.

Examples, Druids, Shamans, (to a lesser extent) Hunters on WoW. Warden on ESO. Ranger on GW2.

Closest is Conjurer/White mage but that's honestly pretty far.

I'd like to see a job that actually draws from and uses nature magic. Like tangling roots, commanding insect swarms, also a focus on poisons would make sense. Plant and or animal based class. Like Wild Mage, or Beastmaster.

CNJ and WHM are both closely tied to nature. It's not "pretty far", they simply are. I agree with what you're saying otherwise though. A hunter-like job would be amazing, or even a druid or shaman job. It'd be something different and this game needs different. I mained BM hunter in WoW for a long time before recently quitting. I miss it sometimes. Started playing ESO recently and Warden sorta fills that void.

Other then 2 of it's spells none of it's abilities have a nature theme. I get it's lore is about that but it's not executed well in gameplay.

The whole class is nature themed. Youre connected to the spirits and the forest and all your attack skills have to do with wind or ground. Its what you get.

BLM has ice, lightning and fire attacks if thats what you want, but for a nature themed class WHMs your option.

I still wish WHM had a more nature theme to it, afterall CNJ is a druid in all but name.

While I really like the idea of a nature class, I don't think XIV is the game to make it come to life. Job skills are all pretty basic in this game and I feel like they just wouldn't be able to do justice with it.

BLU is interesting in that you DO get so many varied skills, but we all know how that went. If they ever allowed full-jobs like that (doubt they ever will), I think a nature-class could work.

Conjurer is Druid. It's all about communing with nature to utilize the raw elements themselves to protect, revitalize and even to quell threats.

It just happens to get a bit more of a Priest focus after becoming White Mage.

As far as Hunter/Ranger goes, we have Archer.

It just happens to get focused into Bard after level 30.

    That said...

I'd love to see Beastmaster (As a non-Limited Job).

I think Bow Mage Sniper could be cool too.

Also, I think it could be neat to get a shapeshifting job similar to WoW's Druid (I know someone wanted something akin to Vincent's Chaos form. Lorewise, there's potential for SMN to shapeshift, akin to how Dreadwyrm Trance and also Ysayle becoming Shiva works)

I agree regarding WHM. While the lore and quests are heavily focused on keeping harmony with the elementals and the Twelveswood, if you look through the ability list, most I would say are unthemed (Cure, Medica, Regen, Presence of Mind) or have an ecclesiastical theme (Holy, Benediction, Assize, Tetragrammaton, Divine Benison, Plenary Indulgence). You could maybe say Stone & Aero are nature-based, but they're also just simple offensive expressions of the earth and wind elements. Even the AF set names (Healer's, Cleric's, Orison, Seventh Heaven) imply the job is more of a cleric than a druid.

If they ever figure out a way to make Geomancer a full job rather than how it's presented in the AST quests as "the other side of the same coin as AST", then I imagine that might give you what you want.
