Why Roe Love Hroth

I've been seeing some comments of people curious as to why so many Male Roegadyn are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Hrothgar. So I figured I'd shed some light on the matter and provide education to the uninitiated.

Simply put, it's an all Male race of sexy burly lion dudes. It's the dream fantasy not seen since Final Fantasy XI's all Male Galka race. Not to mention it's at long last a furry bestail race with actual beast like features instead of just an elf with cat tails and ears.

Obviously it's not every individual but 90% of Male Roegadyn players are in the Bara scene, and to summarize what Bara is, it's a genre which consists of gay monster/human/furry muscular husky gigaton beast dudes. And if your familiar with the genre, it's easy to understand why fans of the genre gravitate so much towards Roegadyn males and the Hrothgar.

In the gaming industry, it's difficult to find bara content, Final Fantasy XIV being the only game at least in the MMO scene that offers healthy and diverse options for Bara Rp and fantasy. It's a genre that is completely overshadowed by heteronormative ideologies and yaoi content, as people believe men shouldn't be muscular or chubby, rather they must be feminine with fem like features...and straight.

Hrothgar to us in the genre is a breath of fresh air. It gets tiring and exhausting being around cat girls and lady elves all day. You go into any server, you see cats girls and lady humans. You may see 1 or 2 Male Roe, if you see more than that take pictures as it's an anomaly that will never happen again. Hopefully with the arrival of this race we will see a nice boom in beastmen roaming the lands of Eorzea.

So hopefully this has given you some insight as to why the Male Roes are so hyped for Hrothgar and perhaps educated yourself on the Bara genre.

i highly doubt 90% of the roedegayn population are into bara. I think you are mistaking your personal, probably edge case for everyones main case. I doubt even 20% of the people who play this game are into it for the sex aspect.

i would say 90% probably like, respect, or are amused by the concept of playing large male charachters though. And its only the second flavor or large male charachter.

I....I..just made a male roe who is going to change into a Hrothgar. To be fair, I did it so I could speed run to 50 and get the Regalia.

...Every lion needs his "Hrothcar".

Edit: "Cat Mobile" is also acceptable, but is also useable by Miqo'te.

Basically, Hrothgar is exactly what 90% of all Roes always wanted, but had to settle for Roegadyn because that’s all they had…
Roes are otherwise… horrendous, but they’re the only big beefy race we have.

Yeah, I've known fur bara was a thing which kinda made me roll my eyes hard when people over reacted at the monogender news by screaming "SE is homophobic!" for not getting bunny bois. Like, it's fur bara ... it may not be YOUR thing but it's certainly A thing.

That's why I think Hrothgar will surprise people with how many play them. Seen Cat Bois wanting to go Hrothgar saying they only played cat boi cause it was the only furry option they had. Scaley Bois wanting to convert cause it's the most beastly option now. Never knew if many Roebros wanted to change but apparently yeah. .

Just hopefully they don't give Hrothgar emotes that look like they were designed for lalafell like a few of the Roe ones...

I am only planning of going from Miqo to Hrothgar because I'm upgrading cats and I feel Male Miqo'tes tend to look way too feminine at times. Not enough customability to make them more buffer or rugged. I have always liked how I was able to make mine but as soon as I saw Hrothgar I felt the need to change now that we have a bigger, more burly muscle cat. I don't hate/love furry in the least, just a preference of making a better overal character for RP. ^^

I'd wager that most people wanting to switch to Hrothgar aren't attracted to their characters. They just like a certain race/build type. But to each their own I guess.
