Request: Please change back the appearance of the Lucian Prince's Boots.

    Greetings.

With Patch 4.58, the appearance of the Lucian Prince's Boots was changed. The pattern of the boot sole tread was made more faithful, but the colour of the boot sole now appears orange rather than red, and dirt was added to the whole sole. The colour of the boot sole also no longer matches the red highlights on the Lucian Prince's Fingerless Glove, as it originally did.

This change has arguably made the boots, and by extension, the Lucian Prince's attire as a whole, less appealing to wear as a glamoured outfit.
Please look at this image showing how the boot soles looked before Patch 4.58, and how they look in Patch 4.58.

For this reason, please consider removing the dirt and changing the colour of the Lucian Prince's Boots to how it was before Patch 4.58.

To me, the first iteration looks like they forgot some of the texture and the depth of the crevices in the sole. The new look in 4.58 makes it look more detailed and fixed up. I like it a lot better. I think the first iteration was just a mistake on their part that got stealth fixed.

Haven't seen a direct comparison of before/after until now, holy cow they did completely ruin it.
    Hope they reconsider.

Impressive observations. I can't remember the last time I noticed the soles of any in-game shoes, and I certainly never noticed the gloves had minuscule red accents. It's definitely weird that the boots are pre-dirtied. I mean, yeah our adventuring wear is sure to get dirty over time, but they don't usually show it. I don't think anyone ever said to themselves "Man, I wish I could wear what Notcis does, but I REALLY hope they keep the dirt and crap on there too, so it looks truly worn-in!"

While I agree that the shoe soles and glove accents aren't quite the same color (I suspect they are technically the same color as far as the game is concerned, but due to the material differences being dyed [rubber vs fabric], they appear differently), I think the orange-y dirt color on the soles is making it look even more orange than it truly is. In the FFXV pictures, it looks less like dirt and more just like wear and tear. The literal dirt addition is a weird choice.

In fact the change makes them look more like in the actual FFXV. The render you're comparing to is very old and was made back when Nomura was still director. The color of the soles was changed I think around the time Episode Duscae released; I remember there was some discussion about it with some strong opinions in both directions back then.
So the previous version was based on an old design of the boots and they changed it to match the actual design of the released game, and that means it won't be changed back.
