Not trying to be rude, but you have to understand that’s how things work around here. People complained about too much RNG in crafting, and want crafting to be more accessible. In 4.0, we got Prudent Touch, and crafting is more accessible.

Nothing will stay “exclusive” on this game unless its Chinese items.
Yeah that's one of the big problems of SE, they keep pushing the game down because things were too hard for a majority of players... Crafting got ruined in 4.x, you don't even need a pentameld or anything to 100% HQ with a macro... it's not related to what I complain here but it's still something stupid that they did... So end game gear is not a challenge anymore to get...

I 100% agree with you. But 70% of the player base does not agree, so crafting will not get hard ever again unless it’s requested once more (it won’t, don’t expect it to)

But from this point on, don’t expect anything to be exclusive, that seems to anger this community a lot. Would I like more exclusive stuff? Of course! But I have to wake up and realize that’s not how things work around here. What stays or what is gone from the game is ultimately up to the community. You have to understand that.

Yeah, no, don't mix poor game design (crafting being RNG relying, makign it "hard") and players greed.
ARR mechanics have all more or less changed because they were getting clunky as the game developed. That's true for battle systems, crafting, glamour and so on.

As a crafter who has crafted since 2.0, and understands crafting well, I can definitely say that Prudent Touch does make crafting less irritating, but that is precisely what makes it too easy. Honestly, keep Prudent Touch in, i would prefer a “Savage” crafting mode. Where, if you want superior gear and tools that allows you to HQ recipes easier, you have to HQ recipes that are untradeable. Hard recipes.

Basically, something that separates hardcore crafters from casual ones. That is just my opinion, that’s all. All I’m saying is that I get where the OP is coming from, and that she or he should not expect anything to be exclusive, I had to learn the hard way. I will not respond to negative comments. (I know how touchy of a subject Prudent Touch is for a lot of crafters that weren’t around during 2.0 - 3.0 crafting. So I need to point that out.)

Short reply here as we are getting out of topic, but I understand your point and I feel the same about various degrees of crafting. I don't think it boils down to Prudent Touch, but rather how much ressources and time they are willing to put in Crafting in general. We'll see the new direction with "high end crafting in Ishgard" soon anyway.
My point is : the game has opened. People complained that jobs were dumbed down, that normal difficulty is too easy. It's partially true but also player experience gets in the equation: we just get better at what we do regardless of the tools we have with each expansion. Because we understand the game more and more, and that applies to combat and crafting alike.

I agree. Let’s hope the Ishgard end game content rewards both hardcore and casual players the way they should be rewarded.

Your gift for the fan festival ticket was having the items to yourself for a full year. Time for those that missed it to have a shot.

I mean, I can understand some people wants them and that you will make money out of it, but... why would you do that?

It's not like a past event item... What is exclusive should stay exclusive in my opinion, it's a way to show that we were there when it happened and that we bought some product outside of the game. Ok, it's maybe not like buying a soundtrack or book or other physical product, but it was still a reward from buying the live stream...
Did they say it was exclusive or that you got it for buying the stream? Because those are two different things. Look at it this way, if you buy a Burger and fry for $5, and they give you a drink on the side, that drink isnt exclusive to the burger and fry. You can still buy the drink separately if you want.

So this is why Im asking if this was specifically earmarked as exclusive or not.

That being said, if people can buy it, whats it to you? It's not preventing you from having it?

While the announcement of the Fanfest itself didnt lable the items as exclusive (check here: https://de.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...c52863c9bc479f), the one for buying the stream did (https://de.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...7d1038b30f0a23).

However this was after the moogle-attire from the 2015 Fanfest (which was advertised as exclusive back then) ended up on the mogstation. So for me it wasnt unreasonable to assume that they'd add the 2017-items to the cash shop eventually aswell.

...and this is nitpicking, but considering this whole "issue" is just extremly silly, I'd like to point out that they dont explixtly mentioned that the items are exclusive to buying the stream, even if they're described as "exclusive" on the website - this wouldnt have been correct at that time anyways, since you could get them both from the stream and from attending the fanfest itself.

I do recall that they made a huge fuss about "You need to buy this stream now!! Only limited time left to get access to the videos and the items!", so I can see people being upset about feeling pressured into spending 30$ on something they thought they could never get their hands on again - but being upset about the items being available to other people now...? Specially considering the worse conditions (30$ for stream, outfit and minion for all characters vs. 12$ for one outfit for one character).

Bottomline: Dont fully trust that "exclusive" things will stay exclusive, they've shown again and again that "exclusive" doesnt mean "You'll never be able to get this again" but also "...yeah, you might get a chance to buy it again in a few years, but dont hold us to that". Personally I dont see why exlcusive stuff needs to stay exclusive for the rest of the games life. Specially when linked to just paying for something instead of achieving anything.
If you buy something that has an ingame item attached to it, you'll still have that something - artbook, lorebook, soundtrack, plushie, stream... even if items are a huge motivation factor for buyers I reckon, I dont see you losing anything by someone else having access to said item, specially considering that you got some real life value aswell (and if you're seriously just buying the stuff for the ingame item... hit me up, I'll take the real life stuff out of your hands free of charge so it wont clutter your real life house!)

I do believe that refers to only the minion. Frankfurt had the yuna minion while Las Vegas had the Rikku minion. Thisis the same thing this year with the Cloud/Tifa/Aerith minions. The minions were exclusive to the respective City fan fests.
