Would you rather have had Male Viera or Hrothgar?

It actually won't, and there's an even more in-depth poll about ShB anticipation regarding the missing genders. Even taking into concern the limited data from the Forum users (and reddit since that one was shared there as well), a decent sample size is enough to gauge interest. And it doesn't need to be a "majority" of the players, just "enough" to justify the expenses (in the very same live letter you're quoting, Yoshi even says:

Right before the part you bolded, even. It's not saying yes, but the door is not "shut" so we can still show our support.

You're welcome to show your support. But you're tilting at windmills until they solve the problems preventing them from implementing additional races.

Considering the problems are at a very deep level both forwards and backwards in time, considering how long these have been under development (all the way back to blufever for first sighting of Hrothgar) you're wasting your energy on a black hole of nothing.

This is not something you're going to see in Shadowbringers; the timelines cannot match up.

And all of this over freaking race glamour.

Personally, Viera. But, and this is a big but. With everything how it is, I would have preferred the implementation of a full gendered Hrothgar/Viera first and then the other in 6.0 or less. I'm not so keen on genderlocks - less so when caused by issues regarding implementation and resources being stretched thin.

So, Viera for my own desire for aesthetics and enjoyment of the race. Hrothgar for what it brings to the table.

Contrary to belief; in other threads where I show my Viera support; my impatience is for an 'straight forward answer of 'yes' and 'no' rather than them being implemented post haste.

We're aware they're not going to be in Shadowbringers. In case they get implemented, the earliest we can hope for is 6.0 if they start developing them by 5.1. You're talking to the wrong people if you think we want them post-haste (ok, post-haste at the expense of the dev team's health and other content).

I mean, part of the carrot for Eureka were FFXI outfits. Glamour is the true end-game, yo.

I'll go with Hrothgar since they add something really unique to the game.

I don't really care which race we got, I just want a full race with both males and females. (and no you can't just call the male ronso "male viera" and slap on a weird dimorphism excuse, comparable designs only.)

Though, like I've said many times before, the best way of doing that would've been adding hrothgar male and female first, having viera be a beast tribe, and then opening up viera for 6.0.
But of course, too late for that now. :T

A large sample size alone isn't enough to make something a valid sample. Accounting for WHERE that sample is from is important.
