Crash after ARR credits cutscene

Like the title says my game crashes after the final credits cutscene of ARR. I would try switching to DirectX9 on the Launcher, and then try to skip the credits. If that fails, try reinstalling the game.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Does the crash only happen during cut scenes? Does this crash happen anywhere else in game? Please make sure the drivers are updated and please try doing a cleanboot. Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Hi and thanks for replying. This is the only crash i've had. It happens when the credits cut scene ends and before whatever happens next... The gif above starts right after the character selection and ends at the error. My other characters are just fine, cutscences play, i started a new character n every was fine, just get the error at the end of the game. The drivers are up to date. I'll try the reboot n get back to you after work...

Ok got an update.... i did the clean boot and there is progress... sorta... after restarting i lauched in directx 11, pretty much the same story except now when it crashes there is no error info box... but when i launch in directx 9 after i skip the credits cutscene the screen goes black and a long song plays n when thats over the character selection music plays indefinitely all to the black screen. but when i close the game and log back in it starts me back at the cutscene after the ultimate weapon battle starting the whole loop over... its like it doesn't want to start heavensward... well hope that helps n hope to hear back soon... thanks again...

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

If it is only happening with this one character, you may want to try deleting the locally-saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.

Also on the system report, it shows the graphics drivers were last updated in December of 2018 Please update them to a more recent version.

i didnt realize i had 2 drivers... i only updated the nividia one before, but after updating the amd one no change... as for the local saved data (LSD?) i see a bunch of folder i assume are character data but how do i know which is which???

Thank you for the reply.

With the character files, either delete or move the 'My Games Folder'. In regard to the graphics cards please make sure you update the drivers for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050. Please also make sure the game is running on the Nvidia graphics card. Please use the following

Open the Nvidia Control Panel. ...
Select Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings.
Click on the Program Settings tab and select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop down list.

ok i've done all those things, still nothing... windows says the best driver for the nividia is installed... i just don't understand how it could just suddenly stop working i've never had any errors before, until i finished the ultimate weapon battle then BAM! i don't have any other characters that are even close to finishing ARR so i don't know if this is gunna happen if i try to play with another character... i don't want to just play ARR forever i want to be able to move on
