    That's probably fair. My point regardless is I'd rather not see XIV slide into meatwall tank territory.

    This may have just been from playing Prot Warrior so often, but... I outpaced most DPS in AoE and was usually right behind 2nd place for single-target damage. WoW doesn't exactly meat-tank, either, though it has now again lost the ability for tanks to noticeably differ their rotation between mitigation options and offensive options. (More variance than when mitigation was primarily oGCD across the board, but less than Mists era and earlier where they shared costs of time and resource with additional offensive tools.)

    Heck, if you go all the way back to DnD and MUDs, "tanks" could be better called "front-liners" or "fighters", respectively, and tacked on survivability less at cost of damage than of alternate utilities.
