So to sum this up, since you can't be a male Viera you believe it's time to scrap the game, yes?We all saw the live letter. They said they could only do two jobs in this expansion. And then said this is the only races they could do for awhile.
I understand the hard work that goes into mmo's. And I also understand that this game was rebuilt basically in two years.
And I look at older mmo's and even wow seems to have a hard time holding up.
It's going to be harder and harder to meet the demands of all the players. It already is.
I feel it is time for another rebirth for this game.
I know it might not seem like it but MMOs aren't a license to print money, if it was Blizzard wouldn't be a subsidiary of Activision.
I'd be more concerned if they constantly pumped out half-assedly made jobs and races.
there's also the fact that there's a limited pool of "talented" programmers that can also A. speak japanese, and B. live and work in Japan. there's also that Square Enix can't have a humongous department solely dedicated to FFXIV just so that OP's wish for everything they want can be fulfilled. there are limits to what a company wants to spend and do. more people equals more salary, more overhead, more computers, etc. also where are you going to put all these people that you want to have them hire? can HR handle all these people?
As much as I am pro male viera, but glamour is never going to be the death of this game... unless they released playable children (bc lets be real, ppl would do bad things with said children and the media would destroy us all). That being said, yes it sucks we are not getting male viera/female hrothgar. Who knows, maybe they will expand and get more workers and money in a later expansion. If ShB does really well then perhaps this may become a thing. But its just glamour. Its not the core feature of the game... that being gameplay. If the game itself breaks, the ui becomes befuddled and bad, if the servers start crashing nonstop, and none of these issues are fixed. Then yes... yes this game will die. But glamour is really the added bonus and an aesthetic.

The only thing that XIV is "in danger of" is the actual content itself. We have not gotten a new formula at all since the re-launch of the game, and most of the new content introduced has been either DOA or pretty badly received withing the plaeyerbase.
I rather we get no jobs in 6.0 (or just 1 healer, at the very least) if it means the content that we run on a daily/weekly basis will have a bigger focus than they do now.

Can you honestly think of another Tank or a DPS that would legit actually be good for the game? The only thing that XIV is "in danger of" is the actual content itself. 1 more new healer in 6.0 and no more Classes/Job would probly be good for the game, cause yeah, then the rest of the Resources can now Circumvent and be focused purely on Content and Balancing. And of course new gear (Glamour is true endgame afterall)
Id love to see new raids and even some new dungeons unique and challenging like the Binding Coils and Alexander. Then they should try to address and make Open World and Radiant quests more of a thing. Bring back open world participation and make them more rewarding and valuable. I miss seeing people run around doing Fates.

I don't really have an issue with their content formula per se, they just seem to struggle with side content meant to break the formula up a bit. Diadem was DOA not once, but twice. Eureka was received a bit better but they basically just chucked fates into 3 zones and called it "content". Baldesion Arsenal was meant to be something different...and it was, but it wasn't very accessible. So it isn't like they haven't tried, they just haven't found a happy medium yet.
When you got MMO's out there who do not follow the norms like Black Desert Online literally a MMO with a cashshop like a smartphone app, making millions of dollars vs FFXIV releasing a undyeable costume for 12 bucks, yeah lol.
