Nobody uses the search function still?

The problem is most of the community are 50s now. In a MMO you have the newbs and the "can't make up my mind yet" crowd that allows you to generally find a party at all level ranges.

1) There are very few newbs joining the game(just came across one recently to my surprise).

2) Most have already leveled multiple jobs to 50ish which is why you don't see a party until around 30+

The fact on how many buttons you have to press is hardly the issue. The game is much better to play compared to before(and going to be much better tomorrow) but that doesn't change the issue FFXIV still have.

I use it almost every day and never get an invite ..

Like I asked in the interface sub forum we need a tutorial for first time users of the search feature (an in game one)

Expecting people to go to the lodestone to read 100's of different topics is not going to work, people are too lazy.

Unless SE force people to go through a Tutorial they won't grasp it or even know its there.

In which case, they are not the one that whines about it here. =p

This is because crafting bots don't use the search system. I find them to be very selfish and unresponsive to the party play aspect of this MMO. I'm not sure what needs to be done about this. Perhaps better bot design would allow them to party up every once in a while instead of being so anti-social.

What are you talking about? they serves different purposes.

Old one is for people to join in by themselves, new one is for you to search through people and send them tell.

And that is part of the problem, players are split between two system, the old system was 100 times more convoluted than the new one and isn't linked in any way with it either.

And isn't it the idea that a party leader looks for members ?

Indeed they may serve different purposes but I just think its causing more confusing in general, the old system needs to be removed IMO.
