I think it's pretty obvious that outside of a few tweaks that can be done like allowing players to use auto-translate in the search comment....the search feature is fleshed out pretty well. It was also explained in the patch it was released with, as well as explained on the lodestone , and now in this thread.

If you don't know how to use it; it's because you either didn't read any of the 3 tutorials available to you or you don't know how to read....

I am trying to level up my Conjurer for the Paladin job. Anyway mostly been doing leves cause I don't really have any other way to level. Set my status to seeking party with a comment that I am looking for a exp party the whole time I been leveling the job and not a single invite. In my level range only 1 person was seeking party.

In FFXI if I were to seek on a whm or blm even now I would probably get a exp invite within the first 5 mins of seeking, since people seem to actively use the search.

What is it with people in FFXIV not using the party search feature? I can't really understand why people don't seem to use it.

It is used all the time on Wutai, but the problem is until mergers there really isn't enough people on our server for it to serve is maximum potential.

as for the text commands, its neat but i highly doubt it will improve the situation much

i dont expect people that are too lazy/stupid to use the menu in the first place to memorize lines of text commands tbh

Problem is more than half the server seem to be all 50s with DOW DOM.... Well maybe not half but a lot of people.

There are numerous game that have intuitive easy to use party search menus with very in depth features, this game just isn't one of them. It's a clunky interface.....the WHOLE thing is a clunky interface.

It really is sad, I'll join a group needing 2~3 more and leader has been /sh about 20~30mins and I'll fill party in 1min using the search

Funny how some will brag about their Moogle speed run but can't even use a basic game mechanic ><

I think your answer has more to do with the low population combined with said population being made up of mostly vets that got all there jobs to 50 long before the search function was added. It will be interesting to see how the ps3 servers develope in contrast to the how the pc servers have.

I think most people wouldn't even use a text search like XI had anyway. I've seriously seen 3 people shouting for a party same level range with 2 others LFG on search. And none of them take the time to make a party. People are just lazy and would rather shout for 3 hours then click 3 buttons for some reason.

I am not the kind of person who stays in 1 town doing nothing on the off chance I will see a shout that someone in my range wants to exp. Ill go off and do leves or solo mobs for exp.

However I seek every time I am doing leves, even put in a simple message that I am seeking a exp party. I have gotten like 2 tells out of it but that was when i was in the 40s on my Gladiator. My Conjurer is 20 now all from soloing seeking the entire time too.
