How are you even running it on an Intel chipset? My Alienware M11x simply will not run the main client unless the Nvidia GPU is on.

According to this spec sheet it should have a GeForce 9200.

I guess by this reaction I shouldn't even be able to load the game ? haha

I actually work for a IT re-seller so Will look at speccing up another computer.

To get the best out of this game does anyone know what the best system parts to get ?

Hey, if it's running it's running. I know a few generic tips to speed up performance.

Ambient Occlusion and Depth of Field should be off.

Turn Shadows off in-game and reduce their detail to Lowest in the config.

Play fullscreen. If you need a web browser for stuff and don't have another PC, launch FFXIV via Steam so you get the Steam Overlay, which has a basic web browser in it.

Find ffxivgame.exe in your FFXIV install directory. Right-click, select Properties, select Compatibility. Set it do disable themes and possibly run in 640x480. This won't make the game run at 640x480, but will reduce the resources spent on the Windows desktop while the game is running.

As to hardware, I can only provide information on my own specs. I'm running FFXIV just fine in a 1920x1200 borderless window with the following settings on a Radeon HD5770.

    2xMSAA
    8 General Drawing
    5 Background Drawing
    Standard Shadows
    Standard Textures
    Standard Texture Filtering
    No Ambient Occlusion
    No Depth of Field

Didn't AMD release the HD7850 recently? Might be worth checking out if you're a gamer. The drivers might cause problems though since it's so new.
    As for the other stuff:
-4GB RAM is more than enough
-any quadcore x86 CPU should work
-a fast HDD/SSD can remove the stuttering when stuff loads.
    Settings are usually:
    -2x or 4xMSAA
-8 General Drawing (9 and 10 are supersampling)
-5 Background Drawing (just increases the background resolution, can be maxed for fast GPUs)
-Shadows to lowest and disable ingame (they look horrible anyway)
    -Textures and filtering to max
-Ambient occlusion off (is broken and driver profiles seem to disable it anyway)
-Depth of Field really just depends if the user likes blurry stuff, the hit on performance is about 5-10%
I would always try to run the game in the screen's native resolution as this prevents qualitiy loss that comes with resizing to fit the pixels.

    Should run fairly well.
I am running on an AGP card HD3850 ATI on medium/high settings without problems
2 gig system memory ddr1 and a quadcore processor.
Just gotto adjust some settings like above what he said :
ambient oclussion /dept of field and shodows off and dont run on max resolution
Main problem is the HD stuttering.. i got a fast HD.. but its realy bad the loading in game and the prices for an SSD are rediculous.
I am thinking of putting on a raid on my ancient 2 non sata ports lol since sata doesnt make the drives faster anyway

An SSD is actually almost affordable now with the magnetic HDD price explosion. I'd say 140 bucks for 120GB with the speed of 4-5 regular HDDs is pretty much worth it. The controllers all suck though. I wish they delivered them as pure flash memory and let the CPU handle the FS.

120 gig for 140 bucks.. i can buy almost 2 - 2TB hdd drives for that.
120 gig will be filled within a week..so its a waste of money.. ill consider it if they come out with 500 + gig ssd's for the same price as HD's
SSD is still very expensive compared to HD
Not realy planning to buy an SSD for just 1 game , not to mention i do not have the free slot to attach it to my system , already had to add an interface sata card to attach all drives lol ( and have no space left for my dvd drive)
