chocobo quest = owner, not renter.

when chocobo are added to the game we should be able to own our own chocobo like ffxi.

example:

1. lv20 chocobo quest - find egg
2. go to stables - stables are for interacting with chocobo & renting
3. talk to stable owner anwser a few question about chocobo name/color/add armor pieces/etc..
4. raise chocobo in a period of time - food/exercise/etc.
5. get chocobo whistle with infinte charges/no cool down
6. chocobo can get tired over time
7. chocobo has its own level and helps with duration of travel, lv1 - 15min/lv50 120mins .
8. chocobo can be a small field storage for items

gameplay while on chocobo:

1. you can dig for items
2. can be attacked by huge monsters or mobs you cant normaly kill, getting hit by a stun you fall off.
3. chocobo races

renting chocobo's should still be there for times your chocobo gets tired.

FFXI didn't originally allow for raising your own chocobo, and when it did, I found it to be more of a hassle than a benefit. My digging chocobos were pretty fun, but my attempt at a speed 'bo failed miserably.

An enhanced Chocobo raising system would be nice, but let us lazy people be able to rent them, too!

I would prefer to own a chocobo than rent, but I think renting first is most likely to happen. Also, perhaps it can take some gil out of the game.

I really loved raising chocobos, and would love to see it again in this game.

I would like to see chocobos have a wide variety of traits.

I would like those traits to be able to be passed on to offspring and follow certain genetic and hereditary principles (nothing overly complicated, however).

I would like skilled players who are good breeders and caretakers to be able to produce really unique types of chocobos (appearance only) that they could use for their own use, or that they could sell on the market.

love the idea, chocobos are essencial in the FF universe so lets give it some real use in this game.maybe quests to give your chocobo better traits

Sounds like a good idea i'd love to be able to raise a chocobo and hopefully race it too ^.^ (it was my favourite thing to do in FFVII)

Well i do hope when they do implement chocobos, they will be to own and not to rent. however, the 'Own your chocobo' quest, should be given at a higher rank than 20, while rentals start at 20.
