Request: Being able to add useable items directly to the action bar

The current method of using consumables is cumbersome to say the least. On top of this, some items like potions have a re-use timer and you can't see this timer- all you can do is keep trying to use the item again until it works.

Being able to place your mot commonly used consumables on the action bar would alleviate this annoyance and would also allow for the possibility of seeing the cooldown time.

I have so many potions and other consumables and I rarely use them only because it's hard to access them quickly- if you take too long to use them, often their benefit can be negated.

They have confirmed this will be possible in 2.0. I'm pretty sure it's not possible in 1.0.

However, you could make a macro for your commonly-used items. That's almost as good.

I just wish that fish, etc. wouldn't turn up in the window as well.

Macros. At 2.0 those who like cluttering their bars with items will be happy.

It's pretty hard to "clutter up our bars" considering there aren't enough abilities available to any given class to fill them all at the moment.

Why do you seem to have such disdain for people who like to leverage the full potential of the action bar interface?

I'll stick to my macros and using the menu designated for that. Even with a gamepad it's not that hard.
I'd rather press '0' than 'alt-0', personally, but hey, whatever works for you. Macros are fine, the menu is not. The menu takes forever to pop up, and is sluggish and unresponsive. It's fine for something like the revival items which you don't use very often. But for potions and ethers, you want quicker access to them when you're in a bind. And when I'm in a bind, I want to battle the enemy, not the user interface.

I'd rather have potions on my bar than Refill =P

As an option, sure. I'll stick to my macros and using the menu designated for that. Even with a gamepad it's not that hard.
