These are some great ideas for Blue Mage! I'm sure they could have easily come up with something to incorporate the job properly. Instead we got this limited job that nobody really plays anymore.


Bump due to people talking about BLU again.
Also, wanted to highlight that my adaptation of Mighty Guard becoming a 10% DR for party CD is mirrored in the new Troubador/Tactician/Shield Samba skills for ShB rDPS. Meaning, that it would be an (Optional) tool that would be balanced (Of course, I originally suggested a 20s duration because I was comparing it to the 20% DR/HP from SB Troubador... Obviously, tune it to 15s duration like the other 3 similar skills)
Though, of course, numbers are subject to change, since this idea is more of just a framework as opposed to a definitive idea (Meaning that also, the skills can be swapped around, the playstyle can be adjusted etc)

I like the idea but Why Change the Job Title (Limited Job) to anything else Really it's still can be that. the way Square thinks is too much that your Solo when Really you can't Solo and need Help in Dungeons. the only part that Blue Mages are Solo is in The Carnival only not in the game world. Why did Square Do this Because of two Spell and more so in the Later one (Doom and Level 5 Death) it gives the Blue Mage the power to kill off the Mob, Dungeon or Raid Boss without fighting them..on paper it sounds like fun but ask any Developer and they go it will kill off the game fast that is why the Blue mage is held back and can never be Current because you take a Blue Mage to Raid and you won without fighting the Boss. Sorry but when the Developer don't even like how powerful a Spell is it's best to keep it out of Game. that is the only reason this or any other idea will not work.

But you can just make bosses immune to the one-shot kills obviously - even in the single player final fantasy games it was like that. You cannot kill Ultimecia in FF8 with Death for example, she was simply immune. At TC - I love your idea. I have some different ideas of my own on how they could take the job out of limited and into a real one(though I need to go through all the spell list to see if my ideas make sense), but I really like your take also. It sounds like it would be really fun to play AND the system ensures that you have a complete toolkit, while maintaining its uniqueness of spell choice.
