Okay. RMT bots are killing my BL...

Please make the BL either larger, or unlimited. I want to keep the ass hats I have on it, AND the 200000000000 RMT bots spamming. New ones are spawning constantly, and have gotten steadily worse since the last patch. Gil bots are so common the 200 player limit for search is.... well it's bad. Please.... unlimited BL's...

i wouldn't bother putting rmt bots on your blacklist, when the ban wave hammer comes down on them they'll be gone and you'll just have a bunch of old names that don't exist anymore cluttering up your blacklist. just report them via the right click rmt report function and move on.

I've been blocking those bots since I started playing and they all seem to be untouched on my list. I don't know if the game stores the names on the client or what it takes to refresh to see if those toons still exist.

I'd like to clean it up while keeping the legit players blacklisted but that's kinda hard.

When they ban an account, they don't delete the characters associated with it, hence they'll always stay.

I put them on my blacklist so I don't have to endure their spam. If I don't blacklist them they continue to clog up my chat. Not blacklisting and waiting for the ban-hammer to come doesn't solve that problem.

Or they could just make the BL unlimited.... it'd be a step in the right direction since they won't stop no matter how much Square/Enix ban hammers them.

A good system would add anyone you report as RMT to a temp black list which gets cleared when you log out or the bot gets banned.

That's the way it works in WoW. You report the bot, and it disappears from your chat list for the remainder of your login session. Unfortunately, in that game, you usually do a lot of switching to alts, so the bots just pop up again when you log on to a different character.

The Problem with just reporting them but not blacklisting them is it may be 10 hours or more before those bots get taken down and if I am frequenting a city or area with bots I'll have to put up with a day of those 'reported' bots still spamming. Some other MMO's actually 'mute' reported bots pronto after getting like 3 reports, then follow up later with actually investigating and removing them altogether.

Sounds like a good thing, even if it is only temporary to avoid trolling of people (hopefully) that if the same person is reported multiple times in a short time period they are temp muted for an hour or so. At least giving some peace and quiet. Those who do end up doing it to troll would only find themselves being grabbed by the GMs I imagine eventually
