Feels bad cause you know someone put in a ton of effort and walked away with no little commendations. What are people's opinions on the commendation system?

Personally I would like to be able to commend potentially everyone who I believe actually did well.

Everyone doing their job should be expected.

I commend the funniest person. Sometimes that's someone making a joke, sometimes that's the dragoon walking off the side.

I kinda of agree.
It's unfair to be a perfect DPS and the healer always getting the commends. Everybody that tested duty with tank, healer and DPS knows that.

Being able to commend everyone who did well is a better option.

Or at least a max of 3 commends, 1 maxed to each role. That way we can commends everyone in 4man duty, or no one, and 1 commend to each role in 8man duty.

There are times when I want to commend everyone and times where I leave without commending anyone.

If everyone did equally well the tie-breaker is usually whoever has a lore-compliant name, or is elezen.

It might be nice to have a one-per-week "Commend Team" option so that commendations don't become cheap and meaningless, but if a whole team is outstanding you can recognize that.

Maybe you get an extra commend for each dungeon you do that week (resets weekly)? If they make it so you can commend everyone though the system I think will turn more feel bad, because it means they just didn't think you were worth it if you didn't get one lol (right now you can be like "probably went to the tank/healer").

That goes a lot further than an anonymous one with a reason that could entail their race, glamour option, name, pity, actual performance, among other reasons. Plus, you don't have to wait for the instance to be over and hope they actually stick around.

I must agree with this. I often get 4+ commendations even when I know a had a terrible run and could have played a lot better. I don't think "awesome, I got all these commendations!" I just wonder why I got them when I feel I was undeserving of them.

Commendations mean little to me. Words have a lot more meaning.
