So... people have been potentially losing materia every time the servers have gone down for maintenance and it has just been discovered? How long has this bug existed and how much materia has already been lost?

I do feel your sentiment, but I don't think people would've kept quiet about losing materia.


That is, if enough of them lost it. However, if the issue is rare (and would only affect <5-10% of players, who might not be so vocal), I do feel SE should read through their GM calls from the past and see how many people claimed to lose materia after updates and got "We're sorry....for a list of issues GMs are able to assist with, please see.....-Square Enix GM Team" responses. :/

Ugh, wish I had seen this sooner. I have none of my materia'd pieces equipped or on my retainers and I won't be home in time to log into FF and sort it out. >.> Now feeling like I'll be spending all my time sorting out this problem than enjoying the new game content. Here's to hoping I get lucky and my gears left unscathed.

As posted before which I overlooked, it will be fixed this patch, so yeah they have fixed it and just need the maintanance to apply the server side patch, or you could have the servers taken down now to apply this patch the 1.21 later so you get 2 mainatance in one day and still the risk of loosing materia after the first one.
