as a anime fan, alot of anime character design is more realistic. Well compaired to say most cartoons in america. I like anime better as it touches more realistic stories. Like sailor moon vs johnny test. Kinda sad alot of western cartoonist have been trying and failing by copying that art style. Like mike the kappa.

But we're not playing Naruto Online. We're playing Final Fantasy XIV online.

And... I wouldn't say anime characters are any more realistic than scooby doo characters... Anime anatomy is WAY off, just like any american cartoon. They're made to look artificial, that's the point. The art style is what makes the show... But for games, its a different story. Honestly, going cartoon/anime-esque is a step back in progress for video games. Whats the point of having a high end machine to run a game that ripped pages straight out of a manga or cartoon? Gamers like their computers... And they like the games that make their computers inferior so they have reason to buy new parts... How many cartoonized games have you played that have tested the best PC out there? None... But realistic games on the other hand...

Edit: Btw, don't forget that anime only came around in the first place because the Japanese fell in love with Micky Mouse! So in the end, it was Japan that copied the entire animated TV show stylization, as animation as we know it pretty much started in the western world (Europe and America). And american comics tend to have a lot more realistic art styles than Japanese manga do. And no... Sailor Moon is no more realistic story wise than Johnny Test is... They're both outlandish and play on the realm of impossibilities. It's entertainment.

that is not correct. Mangalike sequential art in Japan dates back several hundred years, it is deeply rooted in the culture.
There are better and more elaborates sources but that sums it up.

Disney did not invent comics and he certainly was not the one who made comics popular in japan.

This game needs something to make people feel accomplished, everyone here that played FFXI remembers COP, it was bar non the best expansion to hit FFXI. When you got to sea you felt accomplished, the missions were so intricate the storyline was so amazing. The gear that was dropped for the most part was good, and every Jailer had its own strategy for killing. And what happened when you beat the last Jailer O lookie AV Popped...

Now the XIV Main Mission storyline I am still working on but so far I am immersed in it, it is a very good storyline, but it lacks in several ways compared to my example, so far everything is solo-able, For the most part it has all been cutscenes with 1 quick battle (Just finished rank 26 mission I have heard 38 requires a party). I do like how the 20,30, and 36 Quest line for each job seems to be tied into Ishgaurd in some way. But... Where are the rewards I have 2 missions left no Ishgard, No Secret Dungeons.... No NM I can go back and kill on a BCNM... Nothing

As far as Westernizing the game I do hope SE sticks to what they do best Final Fantasy, I sincerely hope they ignore most of the suggestions from the NA community since the community in a large part are complaining about non important things. The game works as it is, but I am already sick of Exclamation point above someones head, I am sick of hearing about how quests don't give SP, I don't want PVP to be open world and give SP for killing another player, I don't want Awesome uber gear to drop from PVP, the best stuff still needs to come from PVE or Dungeons. I don't want Dungeons to give SP, fact is if you die I miss my XP loss, because right now it makes the game to easy.

Wrong. ToAU was the best. :P

I'm sorry, but that comment makes me extremely angry. No seriously, I find it highly offensive for you to even suggest that. Please, just stop talking now.

TOAU was to easy in my opinion, COP before the level and XP loss nerf was a pain! TOAU with salvage gear which was exploited for over a year, gave better gear yes, but the missions for the most part were still solo. And Mostly like XIV were all cutscenes. COP had like 5 fights non BCNM, 3 BCNM fights, Tenzen Fight, and Promathia fight. thats like 10 fights i can think off off the top of my head. Not to Mention Sacrarium Dungeon, Unlocking Behemoth Fight with Zilart Complete... the list goes on and on

You should be offended, the vast majority of crap spewed from these forums are ridiculous. There are so many other things need to be put into this game and people do nothing but whine and complain. Just look at the last week the first few days after the tragedy in Japan, people were complaining about servers down and how SE had no backup plan in place, People complaining about Jumping, Terrain, lack of content, the graphics, copy pasta crap, how rift is better, how wow is better, how this game should be more like wow, etc etc. Out of 20 posts on this forum yours excluded because I have not seen many by you, most of them are just complaining and offering no solutions. You cannot deny the vast majority of the NA community wants wow with XIV graphics, and they will continue to troll until it is done. Keep in mind a good portion does not even come to said forums.
