Right. I personally don't do them because I don't have the mental reflex for it. Then there's the performance anxiety...People don't skip ex and savage because they're not in roulettes. They skip them because of things like not wanting to put in the time to get geared and skilled enough, not having enough time to dedicate to it, being unable to find a raid team, not wanting to deal with pugs, they're not prerequisites to unlocking any content so they can be skipped without affecting the content you can access...the list goes on.
People bypass them due to personal circumstances and choices. Not because there's no roulette.
Also an ex/savage roulette would be a disaster. Party finder pugs already go badly very often when you can cherry-pick who to take. It would be even worse in a roulette.
You guys can hardly fight your way out of a paperbag, make 2 threads about duty anxiety a week and now this suggestion pops up? I think you're trying to fly before you even crawled.
I get that but you literally have to know the knowledge of these fights but most people do these unsync and because they've facerolled them hence never doing them in ARR or whatever they're not a benefit to the actual content that's in Mentor roulette. Honestly Mentor Roulette shouldn't include EX fights n such that's just me because look at fights like Sephirot EX where you need a clear understanding of the fight as well as what tethers and colors mean for that fight, I spent a lockout teaching people on Discord and we barely cleared it within the time. The thing is mentor roulette can be almost anything. It might be EX content, but often it's not. Hence people leaving as soon as they see that.
If you have a roulette specifically for extreme/savage content, then people will have that expectation going in. They won't be hoping for a dungeon or a normal trial.
That's my main gripe with this Savage Roulette people are going to go just for the quick and easy rewards and not actually want to try which is specially noticable in Mentor Roulette where you can get anything under the sun and people leave or vote for an abandon as well as having 0 communication it makes it extremely frustrating. People will be like "Omg Turn 2 of Binding Coil yes! This is quick and easy!" then they'll get T9 and be like "nah it's not worth the effort for this" and bail that's what's not great about this roulette is things like this will happen.
Could run it for variety content with static I guess. Since can do roulettes with full party. With DF? Never. Mentor roulette is bad enough with the randomly geared people you get. When you have to teach for three pulls how to pick up an add, much less tank swap.
Also people wouldn't queue into it "knowing what they're doing". They don't do that now. It's mostly bring misery and frustration to people wondering why they're yelled at and kicked in roulette, when all others are keysmash level.
What would even be decent reward for lockouts of pain? And not too OP for full parties
This is already partially a thing with mentor roulette and it's a pain in everyone's side.
