I agree with the level 15 hat being a problem in doing a dungeon like Stone Vigil as mentioned in this thread and the other thread.

My problem with bringing it up now is that this thread is talking Savage Raids and Extreme Trials.

Back on the thread, I'll just concur with the majority is that is it a bad idea. They are for the more higher-leveled players who want to challenge themselves beyond the normal stuff. Putting it in a roulette will not fix anything participation wise.

This just seems like a recipe for disaster and bails. I can't imagine anybody staying for final omega when it's possible they'd get alte roite instead.

Mentor Roulette exists to give folks who queue for Ex trials a shot. However, the best advice to give newbies who want to fight these old trials "for real" is to advise them to put together a party of like-minded individuals and progress through it, just as folks did back when the content was new. Such individuals are more likely to be patient with errors, and much less likely to just abandon the instance outright. Additionally, even if you get folks willing to stay to the end, if you don't get the win then the next time you try you'll likely be saddled with OTHER new folks trying to learn the fight from scratch. You'll need to patiently wait until they learn all the stuff you've already learned - and chances are good they'll run out the clock doing so.

No, Roulette is not a great way to handle old Ex and Savage content. Synced, they're still quite difficult, and even with decent rewards, those rewards won't mean much if you run out of time without getting the win - which will be a frequent occurrence.

It's a much better plan to put together a static party of individuals who are also interested in learning the fight synced. To be sure, actually finding a full party of such folks for the older stuff will not be easy, but once you do, chances are good that they'll be interested in progging other old trials and raids, as well. Create a Linkshell, invite them to it. Schedule regular progression meet-ups.

In hw, people farmed old coils cause it had items you could sell on mb, music and glams.

In sb, alex parties were much rarer. Old scapes also very rare. The 4th fight were less rare however thanks to requirement for ultimate and mount but still.

I wonder if the difference in incentive is the cause? There is no sellable rewards in current model.

I think it would be a total shit show but hey, if they want to do it, go ahead. I can't think of a good reason besides limited resources they couldn't throw it in. But if it doesn't mean the sacrifice of something else, why not?

I think ppl didn't read the initial post entirely xD. The weekly savage/roullete will have a Pre-selected Raid or Extreme Trial for the week. So if it's Garuda Extreme, it will be Garuda Extreme for that entire week. If Its Alexander Floor 12 Savage then it will be Alexander Floor 12 for the entire week.

It will also start at 30% Echo buff and increase up to 50% Echo buff.

Since the Extreme/Savage raid is predetermined, anyone who's willing to do the roullete can just study the numerious guides on youtube before attempting it and win it. Not to mention the up to 50% echo buff and ilvl sync should help immensely xD.

You do realize this defeats the entire point, yes? Just 15% echo makes current Alphascape laughable to any decent player. 50% would be an even higher equivalent of going into O1S with i400 gear—which I have done, by the way. Alte Roite died in three minutes. In fact, his Savage encounter is faster than normal mode. The power difference going from i310 to i400 is staggering.

As for the whole re-selection aspect. If it's anything difficult, no one will bother. Why would people queue into a roulette for tomestones and seals when simply running dungeons, hunts or Eureka would be significantly faster? NA/EU players have almost zero interest running hard content outside pre-mades.
