The one that bugs me is the expert roulette - I wish they'd take that one, add each new dungeon and simply have it award gear associated with the highest when queued for via that system... oh, and just make it limited 7 times a week rather than daily.

I don't care if it's the worst idea you've ever heard for anything ever, not just this game. I've already stated my intentions behind the idea (make the penalty for leaving greater than the penalty for staying, even during Castrum/Prae, because when you sign up for a roulette you agree to any dungeon you get for it). Notice as well how I'm amenable to the adjustment of the length of time, and potentially even just how much is blocked from you, just to make sure the penalty for leaving is still greater than for staying.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

This is true. And that is why they have a penalty in the first place. But 30 minutes is plenty, esp as a dps who already usually has a 30+ minute wait time. But if a dungeon or fight is so irritating to you not only will you eat the penalty but also the time you will spend in queue again. Then that's completely up to you. Like I said, you shouldn't be forced into playing the 1 dungeon out of 30 you would rather not do. That is not good for the person or for the people they are running it with.

Would you want to force someone to stay somewhere they didn't want to be and put zero effort into it when you could bring someone who wanted to be there? You remember how horrible it was in school when your teacher really really didn't want to do something but was forced to do it anyway just for you?

If you don't want to be there, you shouldn't have to be. This isn't a real life job, this is set up to help new people. And if there is a duty you hate, you shouldn't have to be forced to do it, just because a sprout is there. That's not the recipe for a good experience for anyone, especially the sprout.

While I agree that yes you shouldn't be forced to do something you don't want to do, if you aren't willing to roll with the punches of what you get, you shouldn't be queueing in the first place IMO. I didn't exactly want to get The Praetorium in the Main Scenario Roulette I queued for (to help queue times for my friends who were DPS who wanted to do it), I just accepted it and carried on and tried to make the best of it. I get it, we all have duties we don't like. But if we queue for the roulette, we accept the risk of getting them. Like there's certain levelling duties I get where I'm like "oh FFS why THIS!?" but I just accept it and carry on. And I usually play tanks/healers so much lesser queue times. Which is why I think the punishment needs to be made harsher (perhaps it could be adjusted a little dependent on how long you spent in the queue? Thus meaning the 30+ min a DPS spends in queue, is somewhat offset by a reduction in the penalty?)

We are not talking MSR we are talking Mentor Roulette, where there is a whole lot more than a 50/50 shot of getting something you don't want to do. It's more like a 1 in a 100. And again if you get multiple ppl there that don't want to be...

I'm aware we're talking mentor roulette here, I was just using my experience today in MSR to help me explain my point. And if the people there don't want to be there and would rather escape than accept that duty, IMO why did they queue for the roulette in the first place? That is a point I'm afraid I will not budge on. As I mentioned in a previous post which you even said is true, you agreed to the roll of the dice including unfavourable results, when you agreed to queue for roulette. Otherwise, if people shouldn't be forced to be there for getting a duty they don't want, why have a penalty in the first place IMO? The idea is to make you not want to leave, yet in the cases of Prae/CM (which are in mentor roulette), people would rather take the penalty than run through it because the penalty for leaving is lesser than for staying? That is where I see the disconnect and why the penalty needs making harsher. That shouldn't be the case. Although I suppose, it could be applied to all duties.
