finished a arrb but can't get 'before the dawn quest' where is it?

level 52. I've finished entire main scenario quest line for ARR. I bought all the expansions and registered them etc.

the ishgard gate guard says I need to complete the "before the dawn' quest. But I can't find the 'before the dawn' quest giver.. seems invisible.

this also is affecting my spells. I can't get my level 52 spell because the NPC just isn't visible. I suspect its because I need to unlock the expansion :|

so... what gives? I'm confused as to what to do next :\

As others have told you, you still have a lot of quests to go through before you are finished with the ARR content. Just keep following the MSQ like you have been doing.

But just out of curiosity, why did you go to the Ishgard gate guard in the first place? What made you think that was the place to go? There shouldn't be anything in the game telling you to go there yet.

i have gone through all the expansions and am now in the endwalker expansion but want to level the 2nd job but can't because it claims I have to do before the dawn again and I've already gone past it on my main class so how do I get my other jobs past it

What class are you talking about?
I can only speculate that you are reading something about Dark Knight, Machinist, or Astrologian ... which require you to have finished that quest. But only in the sense that their class trainers are located in Ishgard. And that you can't enter Ishgard without having finished that quest.
But looking at your Lodestone ... you HAVE unlocked Astrologian, and are up to Endwalker in the MSQ, so ... I'm stumped on what you mean.

(Also, don't bump ancient threads, even if they sound super relevant.)

I have a lv 85 white mage healer, stuck on tower of Zod, and I can't get my summoner/scholar class quest till I do the before the dawn quest which I already completed, the summoner quest allowed me to get the egi's because id already killed them,but it wont allow me to do lv 55 class quest on non main classes/jobs

I feel you friend, I'm level 60 and the Scions still have a femroe member. Although I'm ready to do the Chrysalis so that should be remedied soon

But I want to call out this same bottle neck, 30 additional quests... is now blocking me getting my level 52 class spell quest.

I was level 58 on my alt by the time I got access to Heavensward. I'm now mostly through level 60 after doing ONLY the Main Story quests for the first two HW zones, and hunt logs + dungeons needed for GC promotions to unlock my squadron.

I was sitting on 1500+ Poetics at level 52 after buying all my lvl 50 gear with no way to access Rhalgr's Reach to get the level 60 stuff. I'm going to be going through 95% of the HW MSQ line in lvl 60 crafted gear, with no way to access my lvl 61+ class quests, maxed on tomestones, and likely hitting level 67 to 70 by the time I'm done with HW.

I feel your pain, but it is what it is. All those extra quests are from content patches post 2.0 that were doled out in small chunks and were a lot easier to handle at the time. At least they cut down the number of them significantly and streamlined the process.

Is that actually the entirety of what it's telling you, or just the part you're reading and there are other parts you're glossing over? Do you have your soul stone equipped?

Also... there is no level 55 job quest. Job quests in HW were every even level.

... are you attempting to do the Summoner quest on Scholar? Or the Scholar quest on Summoner? They're separate questlines.

My other guess is that you haven't actually finished all the lower-level job quests. Like, you have to do the level 50 Summoner quest before you can do the level 52 Summoner quest. (And the 50 Scholar quest before you can do the 52 Scholar quest. Again, separate questlines.)

I have a feeling that whatever's wrong we could determine in an instant if we saw what you were seeing; but from your description I can only guess.
