    Mount Vs Pet

    Mouse and keyboard player. PC.

When I have my pet out, I want the pet bar to be active and not replace the bar 1.
When I am on a mount, nothing in bar 1 matters, so I want to replace bar 1 with mount bar.

How do I do this? So far I've figured out how to do one, or the other, but not both at once.

Also, if I have a pet out AND a summon a mount, could I get the mount actions on bar 1, and the pet on it's own bar, at the same time?

Closest thing I can manage is, pet bar exists. When mount is summoned, both pet bar and hotbar 1 both become mount bar.

Character Settings > Hotbars > Display

There is no separate mount bar. Mounts use the normal pet hotbar. Pets get temporarily unsummoned when you mount up so you can't ever have both a pet and a mount at the same time in the first place.

I managed that with the controller's crossbars. I put the pet actions on a regular crossbar and set the option to not use the pet crossbar. I still get the "pet" crossbar (replacing bar 1) when mounted on a mount that has actions, but when I have my SMN/SCH pet out the standard pet bar is off and I use my duplicated version of it that I have on crossbar 5. It sounds like that would work with the straight (mouse and keyboard) hotbars as well, though I haven't tried it.

Okay, so the only way to not have replicated bars, when mounted, but still be able to use the mount actions on hot keys, is to replicate bar 1, and put it somewhere else when I'm using a summoner. And in that case I'd lose access to most of the hotkeys I depend on...

looks like I have to pick, do I put up with two bars on the screen, one of them redundant when mounted, or deal with not being able to use hotkeys...

    oh well.

I'm not sure how you'd lose more hotkeys. No matter how you arrange things, SMN/SCH is going to need access to skills for both their own actions and their pet's actions. Does that somehow need more hotkeys if they're on two standard bars than if they're on a regular bar plus a pet bar? With the standard bars, at least you get to choose where they go, and make sure the things you use most are on the easiest keys to reach.
