Dev team, please do not remove the importance of the MSQ

I'd imagine this is part of the reason they are implementing the new game plus feature. In the past week I've had over half my previous WoW raiding guild that i was in join the game, I gifted the ARR story skip to a friend because we all want to raid together in ShB and they honestly didn't want to deal with the 100+ MSQ quests post-50 and because she wanted to catch up with her husband that's working on Heavensward content. She can always go back and replay parts of the MSQ story that she skipped with the new game plus feature in Shb.

I don't think they are ever going to remove the MSQ requirement to progress in the game, nor should they. There's people out there who honestly just want the raiding aspect of the MMO and don't care about the story and that's what the skip books are for. I think with new game plus implemented everything will even out with giving the players the option of how they want to play the game and more options is always a healthy solution when it comes to a MMO.

Who are you to say what this game is for, or not? Just because you like a certain thing, and play it for that certain thing does not mean that there are thousands more who play it the way they like. There are people who only play this game for crafting. Different people like different aspects of this game, saying the game is not for them, or not for that is a ridiculous, and arrogant, assumption to make.

It's IN the game.Every things you do is related to a quest related to a quest related to a quest who is related to a quest related to a chara from MSQ. They said it, every quest is at some point related to another. This is why we have an encyclopedia.

one of the main reasons why I play the game, I love how everything is connected, I love seeing story elements all the way back in 2.0 still be relevant for the game today.....is one of the main draws of the game for, please don’t take it away.

I am a pacifist. I could quite literally spend all of my days in this game doing nothing but gathering, fishing, gardening, and crafting.

I skip all the cutscenes, because i don't really care.

for me male viera's absence is a dealbreaker and won't allow me to enjoy the game nearly as much as otherwise I would have

Tanking.

... being a tank has allowed me to grow a nice sized community of friends, allowed me to take the Free Company on silly adventure's... enjoy a night of wiping before one shotting it the next day with the same people.

Nothing to me beats the sense of being in control that being a tank provides and for some reason it always feels easier to get people to join in content if you're a tank forming a group than any other role.

What else do I enjoy about FFXIV?

Doing silly things and taking screen shots of the shenanigans... Also dyeing everything Pink.

Bosses. The more challenging mechanisms the better ._. .

Fave: Screenshots, the community, music and all the things you can do in game.

Hate: All the fetch quests, they take the fun out of the main storyline quest and turn it into a chore. If they would just reduce the amount required to progress and leave it to the important ones I'd be happy. Go get your own favorite food/random object NPC!

The only problem here are the people who are trying to tell people that don't like certain parts of the game that this game is not for them. Like i said i don't care what ppl do or want to do. each things i explain was not my thought but what is happening right now.
And if you want to know i have never watch a guide
