Dev team, please do not remove the importance of the MSQ

This thread is just melodrama, and I am honestly surprised that the OP would even be worried. People are dog-piling on anyone who wants to streamline the new-user experience in any way. That thread is really skewed.

Nah see saying the new player experience sucks is melodrama, I was a new player when Heavensward came out and I loved going through MSQ. I run an FC which has had many people who are new to the game join and most of them have loved going through the MSQ as well. Most of the threads here are overly negative almost to the point of hyperbole, I post a positive thread about something I enjoy in the game and ask the dev team not to change how it’s done and suddenly I’m the one being melodramatic?

Maple Story has the same combat as FFXIV? No need to be hostile towards people that differ, no one wants to make the MSQ away from the players, just in an ideal world it would be nice if those players that do not care about the story but play FFXIV for the gameplay and MMO aspects do not have to take part in what some feel as drudgery.

I just don't understand why you pay for a game and just play 10% just why ?

And i'm sorry but the game you want is not FF14. FF14 work with MSQ gate. It's a mmoJrpg

I think you are a Wow refugee and you want a game as close as you know. But no FF14 is FF14 it worked like that and since FF14 increase it's player base that's not gonna change sorry

Yes, because, as to your point, most people here LIKE how the game is, as you pointed out with your guild. Why should you be worried about an apparent minority who wants to "ruin" your experience?

Keep the MSQ and duties attached. Hard core raiders are pretty few compared to the rest of the population and Hardcore raiders are the ones who pump through content the fastest and then complain there is nothing to do. They ditch the game till the next content drop. It's not really reflective of the majority of what the playerbase wants. They are just the loudest. Don't pander to Fair weather players

I really don’t mind or care if people skip. What I don’t want is the MSQ being made irrelevant and duties being disconnected from it.

Funny thing is that other games don't lock dungeons behind a MSQ and the MSQ there is still relevant...funny right?

I'd imagine this is part of the reason they are implementing the new game plus feature. In the past week I've had over half my previous WoW raiding guild that i was in join the game, I gifted the ARR story skip to a friend because we all want to raid together in ShB and they honestly didn't want to deal with the 100+ MSQ quests post-50 and because she wanted to catch up with her husband that's working on Heavensward content. She can always go back and replay parts of the MSQ story that she skipped with the new game plus feature in Shb.

I don't think they are ever going to remove the MSQ requirement to progress in the game, nor should they. There's people out there who honestly just want the raiding aspect of the MMO and don't care about the story and that's what the skip books are for. I think with new game plus implemented everything will even out with giving the players the option of how they want to play the game and more options is always a healthy solution when it comes to a MMO.

And that's why there is so much prob out there. "There's people out there who honestly just want the raiding" but this game is not for that, the comu already hate the skip books .I don't rly care about ppl who just want the end game content but the fact they want too change the game is not welcolme by most. FF14 work with MSQ gate since is released ppl come and stay with this systeme and like it.

How do people play other game genres? i generally go with the rules of if it is an RPG then i will try to hear story out if i don't like it i put it down never to touch again whereas a beat them up i don't even try listening to the story it's all about the action for me but for an MMORPG i look at both story and gameplay in equal measure.

I like ffxiv story as it is there is very clear fluff at parts but the devs have included so much of that fluff into side content that i don't think they can streamline it without causing confusion for story readers.
