Dev team, please do not remove the importance of the MSQ

Because as incredible is it to you and some others, some people want the MSQ to stay.

I took her comment as more "Guys, can we just shut up and let SE do what they want with the story?" in the vibes it gave me. Because we have MSQ threads all the damn time.

The amount of ridiculous excuses defending the MSQ is just absurd.

This game is not new player friendly in the slightest when it comes to actually jumping into new content.

The barrier is only going to get bigger and bigger as time goes on.

And i know a lot of people use the stupid "Its about the journey, not the destination" line. Its not that way for everyone, and its an mmorpg. The game can't survive with just veteran players, the goal is to bring in new players as well. And on paper the MSQ/beginner experience is terrible.

Hundreds of hours of fetch quest, go talk to this person, go kill this, etc.. Content gated because of MSQ progression, expansions gated because of MSQ.

I know people are going to disagree, but that's because they are just jaded and they think because they had to do it, others have to do it as well.

edit 2 : I agree with your answer below, but the point of this person is not what you suggest, he basically want a skip potion for free with the game when you buy it >.>

Ahh, gotcha. Wasn't aware of that comment. She DOES have a point in terms of how much you do in the old 2.0 story though, at least until I believe the start of 2.3, you did a lot of back and forth stuff with very little storywise getting done. Cutting a few of those quests out wouldn't hurt much, outside of the free gear you get.
