Dev team, please do not remove the importance of the MSQ

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately with people saying the story requirement be removed from raids and duties. Please don’t do this. This is one of the main reasons why I play the game, I love how everything is connected, I love seeing story elements all the way back in 2.0 still be relevant for the game today, I love going into dungeons and raids and trials and participating and having an active role in the events of the story. This is one of the main draws of the game for, please don’t take it away.

Aye, but I want the send a loud, positive message to the dev team to counter some of the negatively and to show that some of us love why they are doing with the MSQ.

I do think that for current-expansion duties they should definitely keep the story requirements. However for older expansions I really don't mind them unshackling the requirements for some things. Cleaning up the path to enter the Crystal Tower was a really smart move on their part in my mind and I think further house cleaning as the game grows older can only be beneficial. Likewise their desire to go back and fix the debacle that is 2.1-2.55 to ease the new player experience is desperately needed, as that's the stretch of the story people have the most issues with. I think you can still make people have to do the story to get to some things but make it so the whole process isn't so much of a slog either.

You do you. If people want to start at a more recent era, without needing to waste their time with 150+ hours of teleporting FedEx quests, then mind your own business and they'll skip it if they want.

As true as if they don't mind they'll do it.

Besides, as much as there are quest that could be remove, the whole MSQ isn't FedEx as you say.

Or tell me, why are you playing a game that you think is a waste of time. I don't get it.

It's cool as long as they keep having to pay for it. I paid with 150+ hours of my life. Surely other players can spend the $30 or whatever the price is.

In my opinion, the biggest turn-off to story skipping is that you resume where you never left off. It's like turning on the TV and beginning to watch a movie that you've never seen before from the middle. Sure, you can piece together what is going on, and yes, you can get the rest of the story from an online summary.

That's what skipping the main story and inn rooms feel like, at least to me.

As I said in another thread, it would be cool if we could get some kind of partial skip option which allows for a condensed but otherwise complete main story.
