Would people want a survival mode in Gold Saucer?

If anyone has played FFVII, there was a game in Gold Saucer where you would play against monsters/bosses in a survival mode. An added catch is a roulette would spin after every round that would limit something of yours going forward (like no items, or hit you with a status effect).

If FFXIV had a similar game, would people be interested in it. Lets say itd work as follows:

    - 4 Man party, though any composition is acceptable
    - Itd be a survival mode, where either groups of enemies or strong monsters/bosses would spawn once the previous group was defeated
    - Once started, youd be in combat till defeated or successfully completing the challenge
    - As you progress, enemies will get harder, possibly including simpler versions of raid bosses after a certain point
    - Possibly per every few rounds, there would be a status roulette, that would prevent you from using certain items, or give you status effects like Paralysis for a duration, or could give you buffs like damage up. This roulette could be made optional, but doing it increases your overall points/rewards. Youd have (lets say) 15 seconds to decide before it makes the decision for you and spawns the next set with no roulette.
    - This would be a competition so you can see peoples scores - including time to completion, death counters, and a point value system. top scores could be awarded per month bonuses.
    - Group Rewards would come in tiers, with the higher you go the better the rewards. Possible that youd get specialty tokens to purchase Glamours or other items from Gold Saucer.
    - Res might have to be disabled, though phoenix downs would be usable in combat. Items would be usable regardless of your current status effect (save being dead).

Would people be interested in something like that in GS?

It sounds like there are probably already enough similarities between PotD and Aquapolis to make something like this without too much difficulty.

The only concern see is that most (if not all?) of the Gold Saucer content is for everyone who can enter the Gold Saucer: level 15. The only exception I can think of is getting 100% on fashion report, but even level 15 characters can get significant participation points and play it. So something like this would probably either need to be synced or just come with a unique combat system instead of players' job abilities?

I think the HoH analogy is probably the most similar thing, but HoH is set up more as a dungeon with occasional boss fights. The higher you go, the more it encourages you to avoid combat too. Id think this would be the inverse. The level issue is a bigger problem, Id think.

I guess you could Sync everyone to the max level atleast level wise (but not gear, though make the gear sync almost max? So if it were here today, sync it to 390, that way there's no huge advantage for people who do savage vs regular people). Advantage of doing this, compared to PoTD is you could allow low level players to play a class at max level more readily to see if they like it or not.

I like this idea. It was one of my favorite parts of FFVII, and if implemented that way, wouldn't be like PotD/HoH really at all.

though like I mentioned above, with PotD and HoH, as you get higher you are encouraged to avoid fights. This would be a straight arena based system, so there is no exploration or chest elements involved. Itd rely on your actual inventory, so carrying Mana pots, health pots, and status pots might be useful, and your gear would be semi relevant. Better geared, higher you go. So it does reward players who gear themselves. It'd focus more on tough monsters and the fights than just trying to get to the top floor (especially when later floors of places like HoH boil down to cheesing it with the pomanders.) With the fights being constant, it really forces you to think about how you're using skills too.

It is similar to PotD and HoH in some ways, but I think it'd be different enough that to be it's own unique thing.

I wouldn't mind it. I've long wanted them to port more of FFVII's minigames to the Gold Saucer. I wouldn't even mind Mog House so long as they made it something actually interesting as opposed to a snooze fest.
