New Player Experience Sucks! - Impending Expansion Problems

I think the thread hit its last legs since now it's been many pages about people not caring to see another person's own value system in the game. .

TBH this thread had run its course before it was even made, Yoshi P already said at Fanfest they were making a lot of the lvl 50 ARR MSQ fetch quests into side quests, either people aren't reading that or are they being totally unreasonable and demand a Final Fantasy game stop being a Final Fantasy game and de-emphasize the story

I really disagree mate, even if they cut out 25% there is still a HUGE mountain that remains that grows larger at each expansion. As we move from an expansion to expansion it's still easy to put it into the "multiple games" of game time to get to content people may have wanted territory. I do think what they're doing will increase the quality experience for those who did want to do the MSQ from the very beginning though, so that's good!

Why does it matter to you if someone else gets in at a different point? (Assuming the solution doesn't destructure the story on you).

I wouldn't want it cut out when I do an alt or when a friend will do it. A friend that want to play a FF.

That doesn't answer the question though, I never suggested to cut out content or force you to skip stuff. If you wanted to do it, or your friend wanted to, you could still. Or are you saying you want to force people to do it even if they found it very boring (not all people)?

The longer this wall gets the bigger of a detractor it will be for people coming in and staying in, even if they cut down the time by a quarter the time will still be significant.. I feel some people just don't care that the game is unselling itself to a crowd (and solutions to fix that don't require neutering the story on everyone).

I don't want to remove story from anyone, and I don't want to see the story turned through a blender just to help out someone who saw the mountain an NOPED out. I've been quite specific on a type of solution that wouldn't do that.
