New Player Experience Sucks! - Impending Expansion Problems

Playing with a friend of mine, returner from ARR content, I can already feel how demoralized he is trying to catch up in time.

I just lvled up an alt from 1 to 50 in two days this week. You can easily get to 70 in two weeks. ShB is still two months away. They have plenty of time.

They feel like they are just wasting time.

If they feel like playing through the story and learning the game as intended is a waste of time, then I don't think this game is for them.

I think there needs to be something in place, to alleviate this feeling. In WoW a new player has a boost, but can reach the relevant (expansion) content, and can go back and do older content at their own leisure.

Or they could...play the game from lvl 1? Also as others said New Game+ is coming in ShB, so that will sort that particular issue out.

The more expansions and story content, added just make this worse, and worse.

I know quite a few new players who loved that there was a huge amount of story for them to get through. They had a blast going through the content from 1 - 70. The issue isn't that there is too much content. The issue is players being too impatient.

Sure some quests need to be streamlined but to imply that boost are necessary is just condoning impatience.

just because some people like story means people who dont should spend hours skipping all of it.

im not sure why you guys think there is benefit in forcing those who dont want to do story to do story.

no one is saying remove story, just make a way out for those who dont want to do it.

I'm sorry but this is a Final Fantasy game, which are super famous for being very story-driven. Don't play a series renowned for its story-driven games and then complain that it has a story to be played through.

May as well start going to CoD forums and complain that so much of the game is about shooting.

the vast majority of time spent playing this game isnt in msq. They sell skip potions, msq is clearly unecessary for some people to enjoy the game. Not sure why it angers so many people that other people could skip
